  1. I'm so sorry, Kevin, but really, who could've predicted that the week I was abducted by aliens would be the same week in which your birthday fell? Otherwise I'd never have missed a national holiday such as this! Fortunately, in between answering the multiple choice questionnaires the aliens administered....turns out all that "experimenting on humans" stuff is hooey, I just had to tell them stuff like whether I thought Sarah Palin picks her nose in private, and whether Britney is behind the gas shortage in Georgia (Where are they getting their info???? And is it accurate????).......but an
  2. Good Christ, could my suggestion have been any milder? It sounded like some "fun poking" was beginning, and before it went further, I suggested you consider how these fun-poking posts read to other VC members, especially since you two have "fun-poked" before & it resulted in misunderstandings. Let it go, and let's nobody go bandying about terms like "fuckface" which are not clearly in jest to the rest of our membership. This is a friendly, all-ages board. And you're welcome. I'm happy to do whatever I can to keep VC the pleasant place we're proud of.
  3. I've heard before that you two are actually friends & that you are merely "poking fun" at one another, but let's face it, that's not how it reads to the rest of the board. So either stop or take it to pm's, ok? We're trying to keep this election discussion civil, remember?
  4. Yes, I thought Biden was strong, smart, and dignified.
  5. Help me out here, should I also drink if Joe Biden comments on the whole "maverick" thing? Because he's just said it four times and I'm gonna be bombed pretty soon.
  6. dingdingding! I've been making fun of her for pronouncing "blunder" as "blender", but I had to stop because I was totally craving a smoothie.
  7. Happy, happy day, Bridget dearest! May you feast on all that is good in life today!
  8. I think we all would love to see that! Maybe someday, in a better place. Altho' I'm not sure what Sarah Palin would be doing in a better place...! Hey Nat, I'm giggling imagining this debate. Your spirit is still able to bring a smile to my face! You always will.
  9. Tinfoil sculpture lives on! Natalie must be so proud and happy.
  10. Natalie, I'm remembering you with much love today, and I honored your legacy with a careful, ceremonial cleaning of my 3 foil friends. Chrome Devil, Bast, and Mercury. Love you and miss you, St. G.
  11. You sound like the puppy. Whine, whine, whine. Sorry Christy, we kidsmokes can never resist a chance to have pun.
  12. An excellent button placement!
  13. The very same....it was actually only in early July. I'm so pleased that he's grown up politically correct. Robert, I'm relieved to know that in this case, sometimes a corn dog is only a corn dog.
  14. I hope "corn dog" is not a euphemism, Robert.
  15. Well I suppose I could try putting a bumper sticker on him. He might be long enough now! PS - I'll happily take any extra Obama paraphernalia you have! My whole family displays it wherever we can. (Obviously)
  16. Fighting for our future! "I can't vote, so please, won't you?"
  17. It's a pure miracle those two made it out alive, from the descriptions of the crash. Terrifying stuff. I hope they'll be ok in the long haul. For now I wish them strong pain meds and first-rate doctors. God bless.
  18. This thread has sort of lost its bearings....maybe need to be split off for a separate thread about great Fall music? I keep clicking back in here, expecting Nick Drake discussion!
  19. So fucking gorgeous, like everything he does. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=8bce3be...2db6fb9a8902bda Patrick Park's newest....KCRW's "Song of the Day" yesterday. Enjoy!
  20. I saw them about 2 years ago, during the tour for Siberia (great little record!) and they were terrific!
  21. You need to listen on a long solo drive, or on a quiet night when you are really missing someone.....or just on a quiet, reflective night. Few people have the power to move my heart like he does. But not for when you want something energetic, not for those times. You know how certain music is the only thing you crave, in certain moods? He's like that. I would hate a musical world that didn't contain Nick Drake.
  22. Might be worth another listen, Dunja....essential 3 a.m. music. The guy was brilliant. But, I suppose, different strokes for different folks.
  23. Damn, I need to hear some Nick Drake now, but it's all on vinyl and the turntable is buried under a mountain of cd's....River Man, anybody? (Is that the title?)
  24. Jesse, thanks so much for all the hours of live Wilco DVD's that you've shared with this fan community! Your site deserves praise and plenty of support!
