That's lousy. I hope the healing process goes quickly.

I'm the original poster. I guess I know what I meant when I posted it. This is an incredibly sad story, but at the same time there's a strange and surreal quality to it.

From Courtney Love's fb page. Apparently someone has spotted this bit of ocean on the search site Tomnod. Smartasses there commented, "But what are the odds of the plane going down right next to that red arrow?" and "If Courtney Love has found the plane...!" Courtney comments: "its like a mile away Pulau Perak, where they "last" tracked it 5°39'08.5"N 98°50'38.0"E but what do I know?"

Two listens and I was hooked. I've got the song stuck in my head. Great lyrics: "A feather's not a bird The rain is not the sea A stone is not a mountain But a river runs through me" I love that.

Cool! I will join you in being Polish on Dyngus Day, despite that I'm mostly Norwegian.

I know we've all become numbed to events such as this one, since with trying to survive daily life sometimes having any emotion left for a tragedy that doesn't directly affect us seems like asking too much. But this one is really affecting me...maybe you too? It's breaking my heart that all these lives were lost (one assumes, anyway) in such a needless and maybe deliberate way. There were infants aboard...I feel heartsick that their lives had barely begun. There were parents who left small children behind. There were pairs of lovers. One man left his wedding ring with his wife, to give to thei

As their motto says, "Where the beer is cheaper and the only hipster is you." I heard this Roseanne Cash song yesterday and thought it was gorgeous. Wish her vocal could be heard a bit better, but that's a minor complaint.

Remind me again where you live, Joe, I've forgotten. And keep the faith, Spring is closer than it seems. I'm already sort of dreading what promises to be a long, hot CA summer!

Vibes that all goes well with your MRI, Tim. Got some potatoes and radishes planted yesterday.

Puddles made me sad.

Your Favorite Big Shows and Favorite Small Shows

The best tiny show I ever saw was Rock Plaza Central at the Beauty Bar in San Diego. It was an intimate little space, and the audience was only 6 people and the sound guy, actually fewer people than the band onstage. A real pity because I've never seen a more moving and heartfelt show. I would easily rank that night as high as any live show I've ever seen. -
I completely spaced St. Patrick's Day! Don't judge me too harshly though, I'm only Irish by marriage, which is to say not at all. But my kiddos are half! Your feast sound wonderful!

Me, nada. But that's alright, I don't mind a peaceful weekend at home. But daylight saving time has come and Spring has sprung! So how are you spending the weekend? Those of you with exciting plans, I can live vicariously through you while I try to clear out the kids' old toy sets from under the bed and all through the closets!

Welcome to VC! Love your username. I hope someone will be able to give you a lead to a recording of this show. I know how satisfying it can be to get to re-hear a show that powerful! -
Loved it! hahaha..."spider bites"

Sue's doctors are trying to determine what some spots are on her spine . They have done a lot of tests including a bone biopsy, but apparently the results so far haven't been definitive. They are still trying to determine whether the spots are tumors or if it might be some sort of metabolic bone issue. I'm amazed at how Susan is coping with the endless waiting and not-knowing. She's incredible. And I'll bet Jeff looks great with his neck-beard shaved off. Please, let's not speculate here on her health...just keep sending your prayers, love, and good wishes. And let's avail the family of t

I finished reading this a couple of days ago, and I am still deep in Arcadia, inside my head. This book was completely spellbinding for me, so gorgeously written that I would reread entire passages just to hear them resonate in my head again. But it isn't just a beautifully written book, all gossamer and little plot....no, no, no, it is fully fleshed out with a wonderful plot and people you'd swear you knew in another life or something. The main characters are still wandering through my thoughts, and probably will be always. I miss them the way you might dearly miss somewhere you'd loved livin

A huge loss. Rest in peace, Harold, and thanks for all the wonderful belly laughs, even the ones that made me snort cola out my nose. You brought a lot of happiness to the world.

Yes, absolutely.

You are all adding and adding to my "I'll never finish it in a lifetime" reading list! I'm currently deep into the lyrically written, spellbinding world of Arcadia. What a great read this is...I want to rush through the story, but I also want to stretch it out so it won't end for 6 months or so, it's that good. But I'll be finished in a couple of days & have to find something else as absorbing. The curse of the great book! Has anyone else read this? If so, don't tell me the ending. Anybody read any of Lauren Groff's other books? I'll be reading those soon. This woman can sure write.

No need to be chilled; it's simply a privacy issue. She is having ongoing tests, biopsies and such, as her doctors determine exactly what is going on. Not knowing anything definitive yet means nothing to report.
-
Wishing you negative results on that biopsy. The waiting to know really sucks, doesn't it?
