Sue's doctors are trying to determine what some spots are on her spine . They have done a lot of tests including a bone biopsy, but apparently the results so far haven't been definitive. They are still trying to determine whether the spots are tumors or if it might be some sort of metabolic bone issue. I'm amazed at how Susan is coping with the endless waiting and not-knowing. She's incredible. And I'll bet Jeff looks great with his neck-beard shaved off. Please, let's not speculate here on her health...just keep sending your prayers, love, and good wishes. I finished reading this a couple of days ago, and I am still deep in Arcadia, inside my head. This book was completely spellbinding for me, so gorgeously written that I would reread entire passages just to hear them resonate in my head again. But it isn't just a beautifully written book, all gossamer and little plot....no, no, no, it is fully fleshed out with a wonderful plot and people you'd swear you knew in another life or something. You are all adding and adding to my "I'll never finish it in a lifetime" reading list! I'm currently deep into the lyrically written, spellbinding world of Arcadia. What a great read this is...I want to rush through the story, but I also want to stretch it out so it won't end for 6 months or so, it's that good. But I'll be finished in a couple of days & have to find something else as absorbing. The curse of the great book! Has anyone else read this? If so, don't tell me the ending. Anybody read any of Lauren Groff's other books? I'll be reading those soon. This woman can sure write.

No need to be chilled; it's simply a privacy issue. She is having ongoing tests, biopsies and such, as her doctors determine exactly what is going on. Not knowing anything definitive yet means nothing to report.

Wishing you negative results on that biopsy. The waiting to know really sucks, doesn't it?

I read that too, because my daughter had it assigned, and she was so moved by it that she wanted me to read it before she turned the book back in. A brilliant and very satisfying show in L.A. tonight, with a wide range of songs over all 5 albums. Played to a nice-sized and appreciative audience at the Bootleg Theatre. The guys were in fine voice and the harmonies sounded so very sweet! A rousing encore call brought them back for a stirring "Sentimental Lady" and rocking "You Can't Have Me". If I'm the esteemed moderator to whom you refer, thanks for the esteem but actually I am simply bored with decorating the tree and avoiding it. Can't Christmas be around the 28th this year? Now get busy in that merch booth.

I would really love to see all your Christmas photos and hear your stories from the madding malls and so forth...and what are you wishing for? Are you busy making a loved one's dreams come true? I'm busy finishing up all those last minute details, wrapping items that only just arrived in the mail, tending to a sick daughter, and finishing up our huge tree. Lots of space on this tree, which is fortunate because we've got way too many ornaments. I'm off to get to work. Bring me tidings of joy, and a bit of wassail! (Also tell me exactly what it is. I'm hoping it has rum.)
