Oh, crap, Hixter! Did they lower the boom on your actual birthday? Either way, that is even suckier than having a car stolen! I think perhaps better things are in store for us both. Maybe a newer car is coming our way, and a fresh job for you where you are more appreciated. Can I get an Amen? Or several? Thanks everyone for the support and vibeage. Some of your stories have chilled me as well as made me laugh out loud - and made me realize it could be worse! Baby steps, baby steps. This too shall pass.

Thanks, Lammy. I'm trying to see it that way. Not feeling it just yet.

So our dark green Honda Accord was parked in the driveway last night, fully alarmed as usual. This morning the driveway was empty when my husband went out to get the newspaper & feed the cats. What a sickening feeling to have it just be....gone. Any & all vibes, prayers, or what-have-you much appreciated. This day is not off to a great start.

Too bad the turnout wasn't better for Ken, but I do love a tiny, intimate show, and he'd be one who'd be magnificent in such a setting. Your lucky friend! Maybe a recording of the YAI will emerge. Sorry you missed it, but sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do...I know how that goes. Davey's setlist will be a sweet little consolation prize.

How very cool of him/for you!

I love Ken in a solo live show! How was it? How was attendance? Carrie, if you start this thread I can definitely contribute. Also, was Tim Rogers as adorable as always, as with the rest of YAI?

And there you have the opening line of your new blues song!

I loved it as well and have been pushing all my friends to go see it while it is still in theaters...there is so much to be seen! A feast for the eyes. Just brilliant, howlingly funny, and poignant, all at once. I'm going to try to see it a second time too.

Fingers crossed for you, Leigh!

I was late to this too, and only finished watching it a couple of weeks ago. This show kept my daughter and I up late so many nights, either because we had to see how an episode finished, even if it was 3 am, or because we couldn't stand not to know what came next & had to dip into the next episode! It's a wild ride. I had a hard time watching the final episode, knowing there wouldn't be any more. My husband had never watched it, so lately we've been watching again with him. That's been more fun than I expected, and I've noticed details that add to the story line that I never caught the f

I'm intrigued with it too! Also want to read The Great Deluge. My reading list keeps getting longer & longer!

Have fun, Lou & Rosie! -
It really does!

I loved it. Jeff's deadpan delivery was so believable, and watching him being urged to sing along (and obliging) cracked me up. Good one, Jeff! Loved it.

What a great idea for a kids' party! I'll bet the kids loved it. (But I'll have a polish too.) Kids generally bounce back a lot quicker than adults do.

Happy birthdays to the kiddos! And get well soon to Lammy's & uncool's kids. Having a sick child is worse than being sick yourself. Hope they feel better soon.

I'm sure you wowed them. Good luck!

That sounds outrageous....spending an entire year chasing around the globe trying to sight the most species of birds! I'm a bit of a birder too, and each of my 3 kids had an extensive birding project for high school biology, in which they had to sight at least 50 different species and otherwise identify and describe where & when sighted. It was HARD! After about the first 30 or 35, every bird was a species you'd already seen. The birds had to be sighted in the wild. We got our quota, with each child, but we had to drive up into the local mountains and down to the beach to find more specie

No kidding. If that goes it'll be bad.

Yep, that got the dogs to barking. A solid jolt, a pause, and then a few more good rolls underfoot. Such a strange sensation they are!
