  1. These are both technically EPs. Rush and Metallica, I'm coming off like a heavy metal lover! Which I haven't been since high school
  2. Sounds like a great time! There's a handful of youtube videos that have been posted.
  3. Don't forget the 2003 REM Christmas single featuring wilco on 2 tracks. Country Feedback and It's the End of the World as We Know it, both live from Red Rocks, 11-14-2003.
  4. Buy it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Three-Magic-Number-Rutili-Langford/dp/B0059898HY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1321375452&sr=8-5
  5. These were all the rage when in was in Junior High in the late 80s.
  6. Hey, my thread gets some love. I don't think anyone liked my back patch idea.......................
  7. Jeff's rendition of the Schoolhouse Rock Classic "three is the magic number" recorded live in February of 2002, along with Jon Langford and Tim Rutili has recently been released on Live from the Old Town School Vol. 1" compilation. It'll be added to the discography shortly. http://itunes.apple....054?i=446206191 Added a bunch of purchase links also.
  8. I don't think this has been posted yet. Here's the link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/three-is-magic-number-feat./id446206054?i=446206191
  9. The Decemberists - The King is Dead Dawes - Nothing is Wrong Buffalo Tom - Skins Ryan Adams - Ashes and Fire Brett Dennen - Loverboy
  10. True. I already own all of the b-sides on multiple formats, the album, Zooropa and ZOOTV LIVE FROM SYDNEY and nearly all of the videos on either "Achtung Baby: The Videos, the Cameos, and a Whole Lot of Interference from Zoo TV" or the "Best of 1990-2000" DVD, so to me I look at it as 6 new songs. I've always considered myself a diehard. I even bought the No Line on the Horizon box set. But I doubt I'll buy this set. I did sign up for about a dozen contests yesterday to try to win a copy!
  11. OK, I've finally heard all of the 6 "new" songs from the reissue (Blow your House Down, Heaven and Hell, Oh Berlin, Near the Island, Down all the Days, Everybody Loves a Winner) I like them all. Only wish I didn't have to shell out $125 to buy these 6 songs. Everybody Loves a Winner has some great soul to it. I'm looking for a link I can post. My favorite so far is "Down all the Days." It's nearly the same instrumental track as Numb from Zooropa. Wow. http://vimeo.com/31510343
  12. Heaven and Hell: http://jujubaluba.tumblr.com/post/12123762710
  13. These were the stolen demos, right? Very early rough sound sketches. I've only heard one of them so far and it sounds like the bootleg stuff.
  14. An old-school jean-jacket back patch for me to wear when I listen to the cassette copy of "The Whole Love" http://wilcoworld.ne...ed-ed-cassette/
  15. Blow Your House Down. http://blogs.1077theend.com/endmusicdiscovery/2011/10/31/end-music-discovery-u2-blow-your-house-down-new-track/ Nice. They really polished off those old demos. This sounds good!
  16. Hear and read about "Oh Berlin" from Disc 4 here: http://bethandbono.c...oet-is-a-thief/
  17. Thanks for pointing me to these. What's the history of them?
  18. Anyone buy the Achtung Baby reissue yet? What do you think?
  19. Wow. Cool promotion linking up with another Chicago company, but yikes! $30 for a tin of popcorn?! I just looked at their website that that's actually a slight discount for the regular price. A 1 gallon tin of Chicago mix is usually $31! Just as a comparison, an Indianapolis company I like to go to sells a 1 gallon tin for $27. Yeah, movie theaters make a big percentage of their money on Popcorn and drinks. The mark-up for those two products is crazy. Popcorn 900% markup: http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2010/news/1001/gallery.americas_biggest_ripoffs/2.html drinks 300-600% markup: http://w
  20. I actually have a pretty large U2 library. Bill Flanagan's "U2: At the End of the World", and Alan Carter's "U2: The Road to Pop" are both good also. One that's better than you might expect is Dianne Ebertt Beeaff's "A Grand Madness, Ten Years on the Road with U2" written from a fan's perspective. I have a copy of Neil McCormick's "Killing Bono" but I've never finished it. I need to go back and read it.
  21. Yeah, this does nothing for me. I'm annoyed that I probably won't be buying the re-issue of Achtung Baby any time soon. If I was to buy one of the editions I'd probably get the Super Deluxe Edition. Amazon has it for $120. Ok, so buy groceries for a week or repurchase songs I mostly already own...... One More. i think the only one I haven't heard yet is the Remix of Even Better Than The Real Thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6ttYw92CWE I'm going to have to pick this Magazine/Disc up tomorrow. How hard is it to find in the US?
  22. That's a great book. Along with the "U2 Show" book. the Damien Rice cover of One is interesting. Not a horrible rendition, but he changed a bunch of the pronouns in the song. Changes the whole tone of the song from being accusatory to more introspective.
