  1. Problem solved. I just remembered that one of my old college fraternity buddies lives in that town. He's going to let me use his private spot at his law firm. Another Facebook connection has proven useful!
  2. So, I'm going to an out of state bachelor party next weekend. I'm meeting up with some friends half way. I'll drive an hour and save them a 3 hour detour. We're meeting in a little Indiana town off the Interstate. I'm trying to decide where I should leave my car. It'll need to be parked about 30 hours. I don't have a nice car. It's a beat up 2002 Saturn, so I'm not worried about anything except getting towed. I think I have 3 choices. Wal-mart. It's right off of the interstate. Open 24 hours. I hear many wal-marts even allow overnight RV parking/sleeping. Try to find a residential street
  3. Thanks everyone. I've known the bride for almost 20 years. She's certainly not hip. We'll probably go the big band/50s pop route (And Wilco). She's not much of a music lover and it's going to be really low key, no-frills sort of thing.
  4. So, my mother-in-law is getting re-married in about 3 weeks. She's been a widow for 20+ years. She's put all of the wedding music, ceremony and reception, into the hands of my wife and me with no instructions or preferences. HELP! Anyone have suggestions for good wedding music for a 70+ year old couple?
  5. That's for sure. I'm going to pass on this one. Can't wait for new material though.
  6. So, is this going to be a commercially available single? Never mind. Found it! http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/me-avive-single/id531819401
  7. New live version of "One Sunday Morning" on the "The Incredible Shrinking Tour of Chicago" iBook and on iTunes. Will add to the list shortly. Also, new Spanish Language version of Dawned on Me on iTunes.
  8. I thought the same thing. According to this thread: http://viachicago.or...__hl__polaroids I was released in the fall of 2010. Maybe that was a limited release and this is broader/mass market. EDIT: The website where it's sold lists it as 2010 also: http://www.photoeye.com/bookstore/citation.cfm?catalog=ZE917
  9. I agree there are GREAT non-tweedy songs on all of these releases. But just for completition sake, here's some more Tweedy vocal tracks: Loose fur - Loose Fur - Laminated Cat Loose fur - Loose Fur - You Were Wrong Loose fur - Loose Fur - Liquidation Totale (Instrumental) Loose fur - Loose Fur - Chinese Apple Loose Fur - Born Again in the USA - Hey Chicken Loose Fur - Born Again in the USA - The Ruling Class Loose Fur - Born Again in the USA - Apostolic Loose Fur - Born Again in the USA - Pretty Sparks Loose Fur - Born Again in the USA - An Ecumenical Matter (instrumental) Loose Fur - Born
  10. Questionable... You are correct. I remembered it was a duet, but forgot it was Doug Sahm doing the second verse. These are Farrar. You are correct.
  11. I agree. However, I already had them all broken out in spotify, so here you go. I think this is all. Some are dual vocals/duets or instrumentals. Uncle Tupelo – Acuff-Rose Uncle Tupelo – The Long Cut Uncle Tupelo – Give Back The Key To My Heart Uncle Tupelo – New Madrid Uncle Tupelo – We've Been Had Uncle Tupelo – No Sense In Lovin' Uncle Tupelo – Wait Up Uncle Tupelo – Black Eye Uncle Tupelo – I Wish My Baby Was Born Uncle Tupelo – Warfare Uncle Tupelo – Fatal Wound Uncle Tupelo – I Wanna Be Your Dog - 1991 Longview Farm Acoustic Demo Uncle Tupelo – The Walton's (Theme) - 1991 L
  12. I just saw this too. What's left to release? Early Demos? A full live show?
  13. I agree with you on the general time period being my high school and college years. That's when I was most excited about music, spent the most money on music, talking to my friends the most about music, went to the most concerts, etc. So, for me it's the 90s. Started high school in '89, graduated in '93, graduated college in '97, finished graduate school in '99. I've had to force myself in recent years to look outside of the bands that shaped my taste to find new music from artists who only now in their prime. I love the optimism!
  14. Thought some of you might be interested to know I ended up getting tickets to see The Old 97s instead. They just happen to be playing the same night. Been a long time since there's been 2 shows the same night I had to decide between!
  15. "we've been had" is on 89/93: An Anthology "truck drivin' man" and "suzy q" are on the Anodyne reissue. "anodyne" and "fifteen keys" haven't been reissued, as far as I know.
  16. Pickle River is an instrumental from the Colorblind and Rhymeless demo tape. I think it's the only one from that demo that was never re-recorded for an official album or had the demo released in the re-issues. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. http://captainsdead.com/uncle-tupelos-colorblind-and-rhymeless.html I think by "unreleased 4th single" they mean "That year/Pickle river" I don't believe "That year" was ever released separately as a single. Too bad they aren't also releasing "The Long Cut plus 5 live" EP. That's the release that introducted me to Uncle Tupelo. .
  17. Are you talking about "New Multitudes" or "Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions"? Because "New Multitudes" is already out.
  18. I've been listening to it all weekend. I don't know if it's great or not, all I know is I really enjoy it.
  19. So, I'm thinking of getting tickets to see Son Volt. What can you expect from a Son Volt show? I hear Jay isn't very talkative and doesn't dig into the back catalog much. Tickets are only $15, so I wouldn't be out much.
  20. That seems to appear on a lot of my mixes lately!
  21. I have no idea. I've always assumed it was the same version as on the War on War single.
  22. I found this: http://music.barnesandnoble.com/Mermaid-Avenue-The-Complete-Sessions/Wilco/e/75597962604
  23. Yes, the first one if the single b-side version. Not sure about the origin of the second version, but it sounds like a demo.
