this is a FANTASTIC recommendation! seeing movies at an arclight cinema is a real treat! great screens, sound, NO COMMERCIALS! or cheesy bs. trivia on the screen. and there is a bar there. yes. a bar. with tap beer and snacks. if you dig baseball, take in a dodger game! what do you do for kicks in your old digs? do you go out at night? homebody? beach guy? give us some details so we can steer you in the right direction oh: shows at the hollywood bowl, saturday night screenings at the hollywood forever cemetary are terrific los angeles summer things!

last friday i finished another "rescued from the depths of my closet" project: another baby quilt done in kaleidescope pattern! WOO! this one was also 5 years in the making. it's now laundered and spread on my bed. i was ready to give it to the intended gift recipients, but am now considering submitting it to the county fair! it's not an old-school quality prize winner, but it's really pretty. and i think it would hold its own on display with the other entries. i dl'd the entry qualifications. my quilt may not fit under any of the proper size classes. i'll measure it up tonight.
