  1. We need an all Pro Jr. thread. Really besides a reissue, I think fender has gone down hill on their lower end tube amps. Jacked the price and slacked on the line. I have never had a major issue with any vintage fender.
  2. Pawn Shop special! Original from head to toe, even have the original tubes. I wouldn't part with this thing over any gear of mine, even ten times the price. I know Black Face Fender's are highly prized, but I see the silver face as a diamond in the rough. You can get the champ for cheaper but the tremelo is as sweet as can be. No studio in the world is without one.
  3. My 78 vibro champ will meet all your needs. A silver face 70's, 300.00-500.00
  4. The Dog is big now. Last 4 times, maybe 40 people, last wendsday was packed. I should keep my mouth closed.
  5. Might be in the works of a reprint.
  6. Yup, I have the same promlem with my wah and compression pedals, I really think the things need a good cleaning and check up. They work only at certain settings and I rarely ever use them............and I'm slacking on all my electronics, I'm back in acoustic mode full blown. I would say fiddle with it and see what happens. Fine with pedals and such but never tinker with amps until you feel comfortable. You can die! Good luck.
  7. I started a thread on this but it never took off.
  8. UMMMMMMMM.............HUMMMMMMMM These amps will always hum, only flaw. I say it everytime this comes up....BILLM MODS ROCK.
  9. Why doesn't Wilco setup their own label? Not to make any money, but to just pay the bills and work with some cool folks.
  10. Yeah, not a problem. Gonna put them on my 12 fret models. Got to play an early 50's Gretch with flats today an loved it. Looks as though I have to build and archtop.
  11. In talking about string blends, have any of you guys played half rounds(electric) or silk/steel(acoustic) strings? I think I'm going to grab a set of half rounds, should the gauge size equal what I usally play?
  12. Pickups can go either way.......really it's what you wan't. What are you after? Their are some good prewired mods out on the interweb. Coil taps,paralel/series/phase/out of phase. I'm really hitting the books right now on all of this and could probably swing some of this soon. If you can solder, I say go crazy. As soon as I'm done with my OM, I'm making matching Nick Lucas models for my kids which will take me till Sept. Then doing a soild body build that will cover any tone I wan't, one guitar with capabilities of Strat, Tele, LP, SG. At first all the enginering terms can fuck your head up.
  13. Man, so good to see these matrix shows making their rounds! Thanks
  14. The St. Louis show. And Paul if your reading PM me your cell#. If you need any help from airport and back let me know. Lets do dinner man!
  15. Who the hell want's to record with a vox..............................them dudes have every little known class a 5 watter out there. The heratige series are fine stage amps!
  16. I'm already playing 12's, but not scared to jump to custom 13's or 14's soon. My damn fingers are getting quite the work out, all bloody, scabed and blistered. Turns out that neck blank is a fraction to small to get a strat head out of it. This was going to be an all mahogony body with one piece rosewood. So I can't go LP either.....with the neck set. LMI has 2nd grade neck blank for 20 bucks, I might just pick a few up for the price and sit on them, you never know. Shit man, a bridge, bridge plate, and fretboard together are around 30 to 40 bucks.
  17. Anyone, or Mr. Rowboat for that matter, ever played or used a solid rosewood neck? I think I wan't to start a solid body build and I'm pretty sure I'm going with a one piece mahogony blank for the body and want a one piece Indian Rosewood for the neck. What are the pro's and con's? I see two pro's, one being that no fret board is needed and the second being the value, not really pricey at this point. The only con I see is refreting, dressing, and not having the option to replace the fretboard. This I guess might be a problem for someone without access to a shop, or the working musican. The bla
  18. It's really hard to look at our recent music and put those in a top 20. I think I'll digest this when I turn 40. It's just not fair to put any Wilco, MMJ, M Ward, Dr. Dog over albums that I have spent atleast 10 years with. There is no way I will really know what that album did for me, while I'm still warming up to them. Not that I don't or wouldn't put these albums up there for must haves, but it's way too early to describe or understand what they have done for me in a present state of mind.
