  1. Got this in an email from some friends - it is a slide show of pictures from the scene. Heartbreaking. 35W Bridge Collapse Slideshow
  2. You're welcome! I have always thought Pawlenty looked familiar, and after he became the head of the governors he was on the news quite a bit. I finally figured out that he looks like that eagle from the Muppets. If you read the story there is a picture that REALLY looks like the eagle! Story from MPR
  3. Thanks guys, I will forward on all suggestions and comments to my buddy. They are moving from Iowa City, which is pretty cheap living (I lived there for 2 years). I hope they can find something in their price range in a cool neighborhood.
  4. Played The Underdog on Letterman last night. It was good - not great. They had a full horn section, which kicked ass, but the percussion/clapping seemed lean and that is what I really love about that song. Overall though, I am pumped to see them live for the first time later this year!
  5. I have a buddy who is moving to San Diego next month. He and his new wife are heading out there with no jobs and no knowledge of the town. Does anyone know of good neighborhoods to live in San Diego? They are not rich by any means, but they don't want to live in a sketchy area either. Any help is appreciated.
  6. Got mine on Friday as well. Listened to it all weekend and it is still in my car. I love the album. I hated The Ghost of You Lingers for a long time, but it has grown on me. I saw that Circut City is advertising the album for $8.99 on Tuesday and Best Buy has it for $9.99. I highly suggest everyone pick up a copy at those prices - you really can't go wrong.
  7. Awesome!! That made me laugh out loud - and I am at work!
  8. That is obviously a joke. I would just go to the show with the old front row tix and sit in your original seats. Then when the people who got the new front row tix show up, just show them you tickets and stand your ground. This plan only works if you get there early...and it assumes that you got your original front row tix.
  9. Don't know how obscure these are, but noone talks much about them here, so here goes... Jude Margot and Nuclear So and So's William Elliott Whitmore Cloud Cult MF Doom
  10. Turns out the pig was raised on a farm and it is a narmal, run of the mill hog. The hog was sold to the "game preserve" three day before it was killed. It was most likely coming to the boy for a meal as it was given 2 meals a day by the farmer. Sad. Edit: GO BLUE!!
  11. Hey the Creation Museum is now open in Petersburg, Kentucky. Groups of 15 or more pay half price!! Regular rate are $20 for adults and $10 for children. Sounds like a deal to see animatronic dinosaurs and children playing together in the same exhibit!! Who's in?? ??
  12. QUOTE(Serak_the_Preparer @ May 30 2007, 11:37 AM) God I love college baseball. On a similar vien of thought, God i hate the University of Wisconsin for being the onoly Big 10 school without a baseball team. So by default - Go Blue!! I can go either way - I just want a Big 10 team in the CWS. I now live in Minneapolis, so I have to pull for the Gophs, but I grew up in northern WI so I loved the Badgers and oddly enough, the Wolverines. I loved Jim Abbott!

  14. Oh, that's easy, it gets praise because it is so awesome.
  15. Shame on all of you for forgeting about Ugly Kid Joe. They hate everything about you!
  16. Agreed, I heard this on the Current last night and Mary Lucia said it was from the new Spoon album of the same name. So is the name Ga Ga Ga, or The Underdog? Let's hope for The Underdog.
  17. Wilco's inclusion in this months Reader's Digest as one of the "Five Things We Don't Want You To Miss" solidifies their "Dad-rockers." Yeah, so I read Reader's Digest every once and while, I read it for the centerfolds!!
  18. Play fun songs that everybody can dance to because they used to dance like freaks in the day...song like: Bust a Move - Young MC, Walk this Way - Run DMC and Aerosmith, Can't Touch This - Hammer, My Perogative - Bobby Brown, Humpty Dance - Digital Underground, and other fun songs by Snow, Vanilla Ice, etc. That is the best way to ensure a FUN wedding! Also throw in some great tunes for the slow dancing - like Into the Mystic - Van Morrison, I Wish I was the Moon - Neko Case, Far Far Away - Wilco, and Upward Over the Mountain - Iron and Wine. Of course you should pick out your first dance, f
