  1. I think I agree with this. When I watched the video it seemed first that he was just trying to shock the heckler into submision, but then it turned into a crazy rant. But I do agree that he would have gone off on anyone at that moment, black, white, yellow, purple, or green. He probably needs some anger management help.
  2. The wife and I caught Old Crow Medicine Show last night at First Ave. It was a stompin' good time - they are so much fun and energetic live. The fiddle player went through at least 2 bows and at the end of the show he threw it into the crowd. Anyway, they are playing on Conan tonight - don't know which song, but you may want to set a tape (o TiVo). Just a heads up!
  3. Oh sure, I am old - I didn't catch the hip reference
  4. What do you mean "and then Jay killed it" was Jay bad - or do you not like his solo stuff? Just curious...
  5. Yep This will be quite the Christmas present for the wife - 2nd row pit...in the center. I debated whether or not to go for 1st row balcony, but I opted for the pit. Hopefully no 6' 11" dudes sit in front of me! Row A should be great - as long as there is a space between the pit and the seats you will have an unobstructed view.
  6. password is BLOWER there are still good seats left - 2nd row pit and 1st row balcony...
  7. Is there a password one would need if one were going to purchase tickets at said presale?? I just checked the Orpheum website and it siad tix go on sale on the 4th of November...
  8. That's because your from Ireland. He rarely got airplay in the states. In fact, I went to see Fiona Apple and Damien Rice earlier this year and the majority of the crowd had never heard of Damien. Is Lisa coming?!?
  9. Thanks - looking forward to the new album and tour
  10. If you mean Molly's Chambers, yes, it was used in a Volkswagon ad. Personally, that song rocks my ass off.
  11. I disagree. I think the original versions of the songs have the perfect timing to emotionally charge his great story telling ability. When you hear the songs with the timing that badly off, but the music is still there the emotional attachment of the lyrics just isn't there for me. This is obviously my opinion, but the song lose most of the meaning for me. Masters of War is such a strong statement, but last night I didn't feel the urgency in the music. My $0.02, but I will be listing to the albums again today so I can feel the power of the lyrics once again.
  12. Solace, I thought of you during the extended cow bell solo in the Foo Fighters set. The Foo Fighters sounded great. Dylan's voice sounded a little off last night. I did enjoy hearing some tunes I haven't heard before though (Tangled Up in Blue and Masters of War) and Nettie Moore and Thunder on the Mt. sounded great. All in all a great night. On a side note - can Dave Grohl and Dylan be any more different? Dave was very talkative as usual and Bob mumbled about 4 words and then introduced his band. Grohl was cracking jokes, chatting about the last time he was in town and discussing
  13. I realize they are not considered "kewl" here, but I absolutely love "Halloween" by Dave Matthews Band.
  14. If you have never seen Petty, then I vote for Petty. I saw Petty and Brown at Summerfest in 99 and they both put on a very good, sing-along, fun show. The show will be much more fun, which is why you are taking your friends out - to have a good time. Dylan puts on a good show, but I wouldn't call it "fun." Plus, Dylan tours every year, you will have plenty of time to see him. See Petty - while it is true that he plays the same Greatest Hits setlist every show, for someone who hasn't seen him yet there is nothin' better than singing along with thousands of fans!
  15. Kind of sounds like elevator muzak to me...I would put it in the "Torture Music" thread
  16. I would go see Jenny, but I have yet to see her. If I just saw her a few months back then I would go to the show I hadn't seen before. Jenny Lewis and Watson Twins, while great (and SEXY) only have one album out...their show may change a bit, but how much can really change in 8 months since you last saw her. Is she still out on the road promoting Rabbit Fur Coat?? If so I would say go to Scissor Sisters. Either way you should be good to go.
  17. To the entire Tweedy family and friends: my deepest condolences to you and your family, my thoughts are with you.
  18. What about Alou?? I read that he wanted to either head to Florida or go back home to the DR.
  19. I'd like to throw in some folks I haven't seen yet - in no particular order: Dan Bern Mason Jennings Brit Daniel Andrew Bird Freedy Johnston Josh Ritter
  20. Ill throw one of my favorites into the ring: Monkey Torture Enjoy
  21. My cat Micetro made it on the website stuffonmycat: Micetro He was none too happy about this picture.
