I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they make the playoffs this year. Their offense is still a force (tied for third in runs in all of MLB), and a rotation of Clemens, Wang, Mussina, Pettitte, Hughes sounds pretty good down the stretch. They still have some major bullpen issues, but I don't know if that will be enough to keep them out.

That's my favorite song on the album.

Considering the Pistons complete inability to shoot (for everyone other than Rip) or rebound in the first half, this 6 point deficit looks pretty good about now. Can anyone explain why Drew Gooden has that stupid patch of hair on the back of his head?

Creed's VH1 Behind the Music is pretty much my favorite ever. The best part is when Stapp gets kicked out of college for smoking pot, and he says he spent a few weeks sleeping in his friend's closet (cut to dramatic black and white shot of a pillow in a closet floor), and then after he was kicked out of his friend's place, he lived in an apartment with no furniture, sleeping on the floor and using a towel as a pillow (cut to dramatic black and white shot of a towel on the floor of an otherwise empty room). It was awesome.

He's pretty much the most awful person in the world.

See, Earl, your Marlins have deprived everyone the pleasure of seeing the Yankees back in last place.

I thought she was younger than 18. This news has made my day. I no longer have to feel guilty about all of the things that the guilt was not preventing me from doing and thinking anyway. Thank you kindly.

That got a little scary. Good series, Bulls.

I'll take it.

Stern has done some very good things when it comes to marketing the league, but he's a total asshat when it comes to fairly applying rules so as to encourage competition. He's too worried about what players look like, and not concerned enough about actual fairness on the court. The NBA is the only major sports league where a large segment (majority?) of the fan base completely accept that different players will get favorable calls and that others will not. That's no way to run a league and I think it's bound to catch up with them eventually.

I'm sort of torn about it. On one hand, I don't like the idea of a playoff series being swayed by suspensions -- I'd rather see it decided by who has the best team over 7 games. On the other hand, the league has it's rules and in order for them to mean anything, they have to enforce them. I'm inclined to say that maybe suspensions should be served in the next regular season, but I can see how maybe this would result in some players being willing to sit out next season if it means doing something that could swing a playoff game.

Hahaha, brilliant.

I don't like how this game is looking right now.

I'm not sure that I'd say there's a scale exactly, but no, I don't think that all things that are not 100% pure and great are all equally bad, no. I can live with that.

I just personally don't find a few jokes to be all that indecent. Definately nowhere near the level blaming a group of people for a tragedy to score political points, or demonizing an entire segment of the population to raise one's own profile. IMO.

I don't wish death on anybody, but that doesn't mean I mourn everybody equally either. Am I happy he died? No. But I'm not sad either. It's just something that happened. He was a bad dude who's time came. When someone dies, people naturally evaluate what kind of life that person lived, and if Fallwell made the world a worse place, I don't see anything wrong with saying so.

I like this article:

Dirty isn't perfect, but solid. I looooooooove EVOL though (right up there with Sister, IMO), but I've had that debate with a lot of people so I know I'm in a minority on that one. I almost did Daydream Nation thru Washing Machine, but Experimental Jet Set is just a little too crappy for that.
