  1. GBMS isn't cohesive at all, and I think that that was the reason it took me a little longer to get into than the Stripes' other albums, but song-for-song it's as good as anything they've done. I have it at #2 overall behind De Stijl.
  2. My uncle bought the tickets, so I'm not sure where the seats are. When we went last year we were in the upper bowl. So...yeah, I don't know.
  3. Out too late? Bah. You should go to the game and chug a beer with me and my uncle. And admire my Tigers jersey. :-P
  4. So you're going to the game on Thursday now?
  5. White Blood Cells is the only album they've released that wasn't better than the album that came before it.
  6. Alright, who's the joker who let Federov get into the picture?

  9. Yeah, that guy was a turd, but I think Artest and Jackson being assholes hurt the Pacers more longterm than Jon Green did.
  10. Thanks everyone! It was a good day. This thread makes me happy. You're all awesome.

  14. Rick Carlisle has been fucked with all of his recent jobs. He did a spectacular job in Detroit. He left because they had the opportunity to get one of the best coaches ever in Larry Brown. Yeah, it bums me out when the Pistons lose to a Carlisle-led Pacers, but I have nothing but respect for him. He did a fantastic job in Detroit, and he went to Indiana with a very talented team that could have gone somewhere if their personalities were not so antithetical to getting the most out of their talents. The Pacers are in a hole now -- they went from one of the best teams in the east to middling
  15. I'm gonna guess his pacei s going to slow down. But anyone who has ever questioned if A-Rod could make it in New York is an idiot. Last year was by far his worst season, and he was still a top 10 or 15 player in all of baseball. I really don't like him, but he is an unbelievable talent. I'd have him on my team in a second. It really blows my mind how frequently NYC writers talk about how he can't cut in New York. In 2005 he was the AL MVP, which is (at least theoritically) the best player in the league. Last season he as also great. He's the biggest baseball talent in my lifetime, inc
  16. I wonder how many more starts Chad Durbin gets before we see Zach Miner. Only 1 run given up so far today, but this is the first time this year he's made it through the 3rd having given up less than 4. So...yeah, I don't have much confidence.
  17. At Pine Knob, in Clarkston, MI, all tickets purchased through Ticketmaster have a $3 parking fee attached to them. So it doesn't matter how many people you carpool with, every person is paying the same parking fee regardless. Worst fee ever.
  18. Even the most obviously troubled kids don't often grow up to commit atrocities like this. Look, there are a lot of things that come together to cause something like this. None of us really understand how something like this happens, and I doubt we ever will. Of course parenting plays a role -- we're all shaped to a degree by the people who raised us. But we're shaped just as much by our peers, and even more by our own internal thoughts, pressures, ideas, etc. Obviously this guy was mis-wired. Were there warning signs as he was growing up? Perhaps, I don't know. But laying too much of
  19. Man, I must just get lucky with the shows I go to, because I've heard a ton of Summerteeth. Even got "When You Wake Up Feeling Old" once, although I know that that one was a rarity.
  20. I was trying to jinx it by mentioning it repeatedly to Kate over IM but it didn't work.
