  1. Oh, I know. I'm just always in editing mode, even when I'm not being paid for it.
  2. Kinda. If you stare at him for a bit.
  3. Vegas show (starts at 3 a.m. EST) is being webcast.
  4. Speaking of things being surprises, Spoon tweeted this today: (Still cool though.)
  5. Wish I had half of Nastanovich's energy. The four Central Park shows last week were probably the highlight of my year. One of my favorite bands (a band I never thought I'd see live) kicked ass in one of my favorite cities for four nights (including my birthday). For a music geek, it doesn't get much better than that.
  6. That's when I first heard him, too. Love, love, love Mescalito.
  7. Cher looks Carmen Sandiego-ish in that pic.
  8. I was thinking this the other day. A couple of times I've known in advance that a band I was going to see was playing a particular cover. While I was still excited to hear said cover, knowing that it was going to be played took a little of the luster off. Kind of like knowing you're getting something really kick-ass for you birthday; you still want it, but it's a little better when it's a surprise.
  9. It depends on how many times I've seen the band. For instance: I've seen Wilco an insane number of times and, with the exception of the Mermaid Avenue stuff and some rarities, I've heard the majority of their catalog. So if Wilco plays all new songs the next time I see them (I can dream, right?), I would be more than OK with that. On the flip side: The first time I saw Ryan Adams was right after Cold Roses came out. But half of the set list was songs from Jacksonville City Night and 29 (which hadn't been released yet). I was a little disappointed, because when I see someone live the first t
  10. Thanks. I'm trying to figure out how long the shows are running. Basia Bulat is playing the late show at the Mercury Lounge on the 23rd, and I'm really hoping I can make it over there.
  11. I'll be at the Radio City show. I'm so pumped to finally see these guys.
  12. They really do need to be better organized. When I purchased my ticket a month or so ago, I was told that I couldn't buy a reserved-seating ticket to go with my day ticket. Saturday, the festival worker at the entrance to the reserved-seating section told me I needed the special wristband in addition to my day pass to get in. So I went back to the ticket area and told them I needed a reserved-seating ticket to go with my day pass, and they sold it to me. But when I went to exchange my ticket for a wristband, I was told that I didn't need another wristband. Then I had to get a refund, which
  13. Does anyone know if the shows so far have had opening acts? (Or if there will be for the NYC shows?)
  14. That seems like an odd thing to wear. Not that I'm an expert in dunk-tank wear.
  15. Thanks for all the suggestions. I haven't heard all of these, but I'll definitely check them out.
  16. I want to make a mix CD for a friend who's expecting her first child, but I'm drawing a huge blank. All I can come up with is "My Darling," "Teach Your Children" and "Long-Haired Child." The people of Via Chicago seem to be good at this sort of thing, so... any suggestions?
  17. Jeff is on from 4:45 to 6. Schedule's here.
  18. The guy I talked to said the $8 ticket couldn't be used with the day ticket. He made it sound like there would be seats set up only for the night headliner. Hmm... Of course you talked to someone much more recently than I did, so perhaps that's changed. Why don't they just put all this info on the website? It would save everyone a lot of hassle.
