Jason Isbell tweeted that he'll have a new album this year: "Certainly a new record sometime this year. Certainly not as mellow as the last. No offense to the last."
-
Why did it take me six months to finally buy this? As I was listening on the way home and being tailgated by a semi on I-95, I thought, "If this is the last thing I hear before I die, I won't complain." Haven't watched the DVD yet. Stupid broken DVD player. Just got home from work a few minutes ago. I'm very excited to watch this!

1. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 2. Summerteeth 3. Being There 4. A Ghost Is Born 5. Sky Blue Sky 6. AM 7. Wilco (The Album) 2 and 3 often flip-flop, and the gap between 4-6 is not that big.

I would start with Nino Rojo or Rejoicing in the Hands.

Stereogum has a song from the EP up. Really, really good.

I always loved it when people who were sitting right next to me messaged me. That would be OK if they were writing something that couldn't be said out loud, but that was rarely the case.

You know you're obsessed with all things Wilco if...

When writing your dad's name (Will) on his birthday card, you almost write Wilco instead. -
That's gold, Jerry! Gold!

If there were a VC Hall of Fame, Mr. Kinsley would get in on the first ballot.

Really looking forward to DBT and Spoon. Some that I haven't seen mentioned: Interpol and Miles Kurosky.

Hey, not everybody has a 9 to 5 schedule.

I just noticed this, too. Ouch, indeed.

That would be amazing.

It so is not wrong.

Drive-By Truckers 2/20, 2/21 @9:30 Club, Washington, D.C. 6/3 @Bourbon Street Ballroom, Baltimore 8/22 @The National, Richmond I love all of these DBT shows for different reasons. The first two: Patterson Hood is great, but it was amazing to have Mike Cooley as the frontman. How many bands can lose their lead singer and still bring it for two nights in a row? The third: I was unemployed and trying to save money, and one of my favorite bands plays a free show two miles from my house. And free didn't mean any less energy or goodness than any other DBT show. The fourth: It just freakin' rocked.

Best Music You Bought This Year
Nobody Girl replied to Mr. Heartbreak's topic in Someone Else's Song
The best non-new CD I bought this year: -
I'm not too fond of the new CD, but he always puts on a good show.
-
Wish I'd had some of those then.
