  1. ...yeah...but they just go through the motions...
  2. LOL Twin brothers from different mothers Are you as good at your job as Jeff is?
  3. Excellent point. It is a natural assumption for some that simply because they are in a high profile industry and rather accomplished at their craft that they are among the industry leaders in compensation. The band doesn't have a record company 401k or insurance plan. They are responsible for the maintenance of the supporting staff. Wilco isn't just a BAND. It is also an entity that employs people above and beyond six guys onstage.
  4. Any other year against any other team, I think the Jets might win. But against Peyton Manning...at home? Manning may be the best quarterback to ever play the position.
  5. Luckily that isn't a problem this year
  6. Yes... His newer one (Watched Pot) is pretty damn good also.
  7. I have been singing the praises of this guy for several years. This is alternately the creepiest and most poignant cd of breakup songs. If it is autobiographical, he went through a REALLY bad breakup. Songs about anguished rememberance, stalking and a failure to move on all set to glorious pop melodies. I am kind of surprised Sir Stew hasn't ever mentioned this guy (Bleu is a Bostonian)
  8. heh heh heh...You should have seen the show that was done totally by the croc puppet.
  9. Since poon has violated the spirit of the subject line, I will too. The Grateful Dead. Don't get it. Never got it.
  10. Wilco on with Craig Ferguson...doesn't get any better than that my fine feathered friends
  11. Oh yeah...Cowboys fans are more obnoxious than the stinking Jets/Giants/Eagles/Bears fans...suuuuure they are. On a more serious vein, CBS is scared to death. The Jets hae very limited appeal nationwide. The big draw would be the Vikings vs. the Colts (or rather Favre vs. Manning)
  12. Like selling a CD? I should know better than to read threads of this nature. We all want our favorite musicians to be akin to Caesar's wife in an economic sense. I don't begrudge anybody making a buck so they can make a house payment, eat, send their kids to school, drive a relatively new car or buy beer occassionally. We are all so judgemental with how artists' survive financially.
  13. I was kinda hoping to see the Vikings and the Chargers in the Super Bowl and watch Merriman and the Williams avoid question about steroid use on Press Day. Althought the Vikings and Saints is a bit of the Steroid Bowl
  14. sorry for going nuclear on ya (was gonna say going ss on ya), but after the bruhaha back in the day, I swat that argument as quick and as hard as I can.
  15. I'm sorry, but that is a stupid argument. Alway has been and even moreso in today's world. So...I guess the following artists are 'sellouts'(their music and/or acutal performances have appeared in commercials...each and every one of the following artists.) Before this tired, old argument is trotted out again remember that this is only a partial list of "Sell Outs". The Buzzcocks The Minuteman The Clash The Breeders Blur Wayne Newton Iggy Pop David Bowie The Jackson 5 The Kinks Mos Def Johnny Cash Bob Seger Shaggy Marvin Gaye Ben E. King Lit Smash mouth Deep Purple Seal The Faces Quincy Jon

  17. Not a stretch at all...I was going to post it myself (but I really lost interest in this thread for some reason)
  18. A really great video...but it is a scary document of what alcohol and drugs can do to a person. Richard Manuel looks so young and vibrant here. Just a bare six years later he is a shell of a man in the Last Waltz.
  19. I don't know whether to be outraged or jealous. Just what do you consider "that many"?
  20. The Colts won a Super Bowl against a stellar Chicago defense a couple of years ago.
