I find this thread...distasteful (no...), disquieting? The band has just released their best work in 10 or more years, and want to blow the band up? Really? Maybe you just need to move on. Or not.

April 2012 will be the 10th anniversary of the official release of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I'm wondering if there has been any word of a special anniversary release. I know there are quite a few outtakes out there, demos, extra footage from I AM TRYING TO BREAK YOUR HEART, live shows recorded. It probably doesn't need a remix, but there should be plenty of extras floating around.

I got a really heart belly laugh last night. D-MAN took extreme umbrage at the posts criticizing the use of his nick name. I believe he used the phrase 'rampant douchebaggery'. "Now you know why I don't post on Via Chicago. The rampant douchbaggery there drives me crazy. Why the f (and he did say 'f') do they even have an OPINION on you're using a nickname for me?" LOL. I told him it "Forget it D-man. It's Viachicago" (Using the opportunity to paraphrase a quote from my favorite movie 'Chinatown') I'll leave this open for a few more days. -
Official reviews of The Whole Love

I didn't mean to indicate that free newspaper = shoddy journalism. The Dallas Observer is a pretty good rag here in the Dallas area. There does often seem to be an iconoclastic view in the free newspapers. -

Is the Cleveland Scene a 'free' newspaper? Never heard of it. -

I think this says more about the people who buy music these days rather than any reflection on the record

I feel really fortunate that I am able to share these experineces with my son. My dad is a huge music fan. Played drums in a big band in his younger years. But he never shared his music with me in more than a casual way.

He forgot one....'FIRST'

I thought i might indulge in a bit of reflection and revive this post about my son's first Rock Show. (By the way...his second show was a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Show). This was originally written after the September 14th, 2007 Show in Dallas at the Palladium.

Well...that is certainly depressing. The Whole Love selling 17,000 less than Wilco (The Album) in its first week? I know it's not about the scoreboard, and Wilco will never sell as many as a Blink 182, but you'd think that they's sell a bit more than their last release. Make me want to go lie in nice quiet, dark room somewhere.

Listen to it with headphones...nice organ part on there.

I did hear "Tush" in "Dawned On Me." I'll tell you all this once again: Jeff Tweedy and Gaz Combs are both huge fans of THE RUTLES

I never thought I would feel so little for the demise of a band I once loved so much.

I don't think the Rangers care who they face.

I find myself in the awkward position of rooting for the Yankees tonight. I don't want to see the Rangers face Detroit. It is a horrible matchup for the boys from Arlington.
