Official reviews of The Whole Love
Sweet Papa Crimbo replied to Albert Tatlock's topic in Just A Fan
Worst Review Ever Even the blogholes are better than that. -
It is amazing that the strength of this club is the starting pitching...all 5 starters with 12 or more wins. CJ has become a true #1 rotation guy. One can only imagine what this rotation and team would look like if Cliff Lee had resigned here. But it may have been the best thing for this club that he didn't. And now that the Rangers are back in the money and not afraid to spend it, I'm wondering if there might be a Pujols or Fielder in our future.

How about that Adrian Beltre? 2000 hits, 300 HR, 1000 RBI and he's 32

Official Doctor Who discussion thread
Sweet Papa Crimbo replied to Welsh Rich's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I wondered that myself. (Although it might have been a matter of the specificity of the 'one day plague' and its effects on time lords). However, if it is the flesh, that raises the question: just where is the 'real' Doctor? Back on the acid mine site? And it also seems to explain the Doctor's erratic behavior at Demon's Run. I still have a feeling that the Master will make an appearance soon. The flesh seems like something the Master would be behind. And maybe now as 'the drums' might have subsided, the Master might be less erratic and insane and simply meglomanical. -
Official Doctor Who discussion thread

There is something cosmic about the devotion Amy and Rory have for each other. And their reaction to Mels being River was a little...muted. I have a feeling that something is afoot here. Just why did the 'crack' appear in Amy's childhood room? And just what is the question that the Silence anticipate? -
And who mentioned Howe Gelb?

one song I woke up this morning I could barely breathe Just an empty impression In the bed where you used to be I want a kiss from your lips I want an eye for an eye I woke up this morning to the empty sky Empty sky, empty sky I woke up this morning to an empty sky Empty sky, empty sky I woke up this morning to an empty sky Blood on the streets Yeah blood flowin' down I hear the blood of my blood Cryin' from the ground Empty sky, empty sky I woke up this morning to an empty sky Empty sky, emp

ALWAYS intersting and fun

Once again...polemic vs. poetry

I think I also mentioned Pieholden suite in an earlier post. I would say Great minds think alike, but SS thinks I'm a moron.

Talking with Wilco's Jeff Tweedy: the full Q&A
Sweet Papa Crimbo replied to Albert Tatlock's topic in Just A Fan
Yeah. It will become an albatross around his neck, like 'rising from the ashes of Uncle Tupelo' and the whole YHF drama. -
Musically, it reminds me of Tried and True.

I know... I bought the same package (hence my rant last week about the crappy t-shirts...but no tote for me this time) -

I would think that if you want the longer OSM, you need to buy the vinyl. -
Ahhh... I see what the problem is. I forgot to add the MAJOR ARTIST portion of my rant on this subject. (Thus the polemic vs. poetry item also, because this discussion usually leads to comparisons of MAGIC and LIVING WITH WAR). Either way, I'm done here.

Nope. I have spent enought internet blood, flexed internet muscles and argued the merits of this work through the years on other fourms to the extent that I will simply say...nope.

Showoff I am definitely on board with California Stars, but I was really torn because of the nature of the song. If we are expanding it a bit to include Wilco songs as performance pieces, then I would also like to add their Cover of Big Star's 13

Nice...

Sweet fucking fancy Moses I never meaned totally derail this thread. Shoot me.

Mood changer indeed. This song is where the sense of isolation becomes omnious

It's poetry vs. polemic. We can get into this if you really want to, but I'd prefer not to throttle the thoughts about the day and the reflection that the day should have brought.

I liked the fans in the nudie suits. The mannequin was creepier in the Elvis Costello This Year's Model photo. I've been married for 26 years. My life is all about restraint.

Hence the unapologetic, non-ironic caveat.
