Pitchfork's 200 greatest songs of the 1960s
Willkoman replied to Jaymie's topic in Someone Else's Song
That was a good list. I'm thinking a lot of those songs could have been heard on A.M. radio on a daily basis which is pretty cool. Now you literally have to hunt down the truly good music when back then it came to you on a silver platter. -
Thanks Beltmann. I appreciate the help. I'll give it a shot tommorow (today) when I'm fresh. Yes indeed. With computers I'll take all the luck I can get. And I am hoping it's easier than it looks.

Has anyone here copied new Sony Cd's onto backup discs. I'm looking to put My Morning Jacket's 'Z' onto my PC then onto a blank Maxell disc. I prefer not to carry the original in my car for obvious reasons. When I went to preform the task a Sony agreement box came up asking me to agree to let them put software on my PC to limit the # of copies I make. Has anyone run into this that can let me know what to expect? and if I should do it? I seem to recall an article saying it could damage the PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A sellout by any other name is still a sellout. -
Chili Pepper blasts 'sell-outs' U2 and Black Eyed Peas
Willkoman replied to EL the Famous's topic in Someone Else's Song
NEW YORK - Rock band U2 has cut a deal with Apple Computer to sell custom iPods promoting the band's forthcoming album. Sources close to the group say the U2 edition of the popular digital music player will come preloaded with the band's new album, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, along with portions of the Irish supergroup's 25-year catalogue. The iPods will be black and will be made available the same week as the band's 11th studio album, which is slated to be released in the U.S. by Universal Music Group's Interscope Records on November 23. The deal is expected to be announced officia -
Chili Pepper blasts 'sell-outs' U2 and Black Eyed Peas

Excuse me but what are the Black Eyed Peas really sacrificing. Their striking while the iron is slowly cooling. U2 is most likely giving the $$$ to charity but that's in essence Apple's money not theirs. So anyone who's going to use that as a defence is off the mark and I don't buy it. U2's music has been compromised. Sellouts. -
Haven'seen X in many years but I've seen John Doe lately. It will be fantastic. I might have to hit up the Boston show.

I saw Scoop last week. Iffy. Just saw Roeper(sp) with Kevin Smith sitting in for Ebert. Both said pretty much the same thing, that it was recycled Woody Allen and not funny. Two thumbs down. I agree.

My apologies. I couldn't pass up a good joke (or a bad one).

She retieved the attendant who then announced it to the 'mat'. She seemed quite em(bare assed) but wanted her underwear back. Legend has it she never saw those undies again.

When I used to go to the laundromat I remember this really hot girl put her clothes in the dryer then left to run some errands. When she came back someone had stolen all her underwear. I had a cell phone stolen at the change machine. Man they were quick. Those were the good ol' days.

I was hooked the same way. Live. Opening for Steve Earle around 1998 at Pearl St. in Northampton MA. That first album was so great. Been a fan ever since. I got my ass busted heavily for saying they blew S.E. off the stage. All I could say was you hadda been there. My memory still says it's true.

Highway Companion/Tom Petty. I'm very leary w/ Jeff Lynn involved. I've had it for a day or so and it isn't a coaster nor a frisbee. Good sign. Best since "Wildflowers"? Maybe.

I'm a firm believer in "The Jinx". I remember the last time I posted about you know who. Both Chicago teams wipped up on us. Are you with me Tongue -Tied Lightning? Watch out Redbirds we have you in our sights. I actually wrote this whole post in a whisper while looking over my shoulder. Baseball is a very superstitious sport.

Remember the Alamo When help was on the way It's better here and now, I feel that good today. I'd like to take a walk But not around the block I really got some news I met a man from Mars. He picked up all my guitars And played me traveling songs. And when we got on ship He brought out something for the trip And said, It's old but it's good Like any other primitive would. I'm gonna ride my llama From Peru to Texarkana I wanna ride him good In my old neighborhood I'm gonna ride him good In my old neighborhood. And when we got on ship He brought out something for the trip And said, It's

I read it today at Borders. BTW I was picking up Matthew Pearl's new book. A historical novel about the mysterious death of Edgar Allan Poe.
