  1. Well, I guess not. My reaction is primarily related to R. Roeper calling it an instant classic, etc which it aint. Rather than come to blows over such an inconsequential triffle, lets take a moment, clear our minds and picture Kristen Bell naked. Amen.
  2. "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" was barely funny. Definitely not an all-time classic.
  3. I'd go with 'The Things They Carried".
  4. Wait, are you saying the Fillmore still holds concerts?
  5. While I find not a bit wrong with Scarlett or Natalie looks, I'm finding Christina Applegate to be sexy as hell as of late.
  6. I think the original Fillmore was knocked down to make way for condos.
  7. Dwelling on this a bit more....Cormac McCarthy is another creative master.....there is a passage in particular that he describes the rising sun as a swollen male member........awesome stuff.
  8. I agree, he's a master. However, I could barely finish "Going After Cacciato" though. I found it tedious. That was about 15 years ago, maybe its overdue for a reread.
  9. Did you read "The Things They Carried" yet? F'n brilliant stuff.
  10. Any and all Tim O'Brien is a great thing. LOTW was a very cool read. Kill Jesus!!
  11. The store by my house will sell sixers of Special Export tall boys for 3.99 every so often. You cant go wrong with high-end Old Style!
  12. I dont think I'll ever understand why adults read Harry Potter books.
  13. My wife doesnt care a bit about music so I have complete access to the home and car stereo. She recently did bring home from the library the 2 soundtracks to the Bridget Jones movies, which caused some alarm on my part. She later determined the tunes on the discs to "suck", much to my relief.
  14. Couldnt agree more. Since I dont go to bars anymore...a somewhat recent experience floored me. After a work related outing (Cubs game), we ended up at a packed local bar which I'll call Morons (due to the combined intelligence of the patrons, me included for agreeing to go there). I couldnt help but notice a rather large percentage of these patrons glued to their phones-texting and chatting-rather than interacting with the people there. Why isnt that considered rude and strange behaviour? And then there are the phone freaks on the El who have no problem broadcasting their lives to everyone o
  15. It just came to me........it was Vulgar Boatmen............sorry about all the rumor-mongering folks, please return to your homes and families
  16. Since I cant see the list, I can only assume the vocalists from the Smiths as well as the Smoking Popes are on there.
  17. Except for 'Reservoir Dogs', Tarantino has failed miserably as a film director.
  18. Reading it inspired a Band binge that lasted all last week. "Arcadian Driftwood", "It Makes No Difference" and "Daniel and the Sacred Harp" are like the holy trinity for me. Poor Richard Manuel, its a shame no one ever stepped up to help the guy. The tale of when he moved from Shangra-La, leaving 1000 empty bottles of Grand Marnier, should've been a wake up call.
  19. And he's got a hot wife (whats the name of her band?). The man is truely living the dream.
  20. "This Wheels on Fire" by Levon Helm. I found the tales surrounding the formation of the Hawks especially interesting.
  21. I paid $3.66 the other day (sw burbs of Chicago). I'm starting to feel the pinch.
  22. Busch Lite is my current cheap choice-a case goes for $13.49. I also like Old Style tallboys. I'm very excited about Schlitz coming out with the 60s recipe. When I hanker for something with taste, I go Belgium or to a recent discovery-Ommegang Hennepin Farmhouse Saison.
