Wow, nice list! Do you remember Tribe 8, that anarchist lesbian punk band that used to tour in the mid 90s? They were a real trip-used to play topless.....saw them at Milk of Burgandy in Wicker Park around 95.

I like the Monkees and KC & the Sunshine Band so I guess I'm as equally guilty as the rest of ya'll. Guilty pleasures can be very satisfying.

Indeed. The street shootout scene was killer. The rest of that flick was intolerable, mainly due to Pacino, IMHO.

Priest and Sabbath, they pretty much set the standard for metal.

If I may make a suggestion.........skip the studio recorded material and go straight to their field recordings. There are tons of concert recordings spanning their entire career out there.

I forgot about Jive Talkin'..........that was a cool tune. I do kinda like that 70s whitebread R&B thing that was going on back then-hell, I'll even throw KC and the Sunshine's bighit album on every once in a while. Maybe I should rethink my scorn on the BGs.....

I dont think they got much airplay in their pre-disco days here in the States. I'd bet most folks dont even know the BGs have a bunch of albums before the Stayin Alive hit.
