  1. In all seriousness, where would a technology challenged simpleton like myself procure these basement tapes?
  2. 'Superfuzz Bigmuff' is a classic. I'm a big Mudhoney fan...always thought they were the best of the grungy bands from Seattle...
  3. The same goes with Ratdog. I've seen them 6-7 times, always had a blast, etc but I dont ever put the shows in the player. I may be a victim of trying to get a taste of the past when attending these post-GD shows.
  4. Set list looks tasty. I've only seen Phil once back in 11/02. It was ok but nothing memorable. I did catch a hell of a virus though and ended up with walking pneumonia for the month of December. I definitely recall that.
  5. Indeed. I have one, thats ONE, photo from my college days and I'm fine with that. I have no desire to explain myself to my kids when they get inquisitive.
  6. Six Gallon Pie by the Meat Puppets
  7. I have a whole bag full of Maxells that are looking for a good home.
  8. I've traded with a guy who was at the GD's first show in NYC (Tompkins Square Park, 6/1/67). His last GD show was in the 90s. Wrap your arms around that thought for a moment!
  9. "Lifes Rich Pagent"......to me, is the hippie album of the indie rock era. I find the feel of the album to be utopian and aware with a positive vibe. I love this album. Had a chance to see this tour and passed. I'm still kicking myself. "Murmur" is a close second. Man.......what happened to them? They were THE intelligent rock gods for awhile there.
  10. I saw them a couple times at Lounge Ax in the early 90s. I had no idea Leroy was part of that emsemble. IIRC, they were a fun band, heavy on the booty shakin.
  11. Easy to Slip Lyrics by Lowell George It's so easy to slip It's so easy to fall And let your memory drift And do nothin' at all All the love that you missed All the people that you can't recall Do they really exist at all Well my whole world seems so cold today All the magics's gone away And our time together melts away Like the sad melody I play Well I don't want to drift forever In the shadow of your leaving me So I'll light another mellow cigarette And try to remember to forget It's so easy to slip It's so easy to fall And let your memory drift And do nothin' at all
  12. I left my office for a couple hours yesterday afternoon with the intent to see Pinetop Perkins, Bob Margolin and Willie Smith play at the Front Porch stage. As Johnny Winter was headlining that night, I thought there was a chance that Winter might join them on stage for a Muddy Waters band reunion of sorts. Well, I never got a chance to find out if Johnny joined Pinetop and the boys. I was strolling around from stage to stage, mainly people watching (who knew there was an Illinois chapter of the Hells Angels?! There was a couple of 'em there with colors flying) and killing time until Pineto
  13. SpongeBob SquarePants. I dont have cable (since 1995) so my exposure to this cartoon has been very low. The kids wanted it though....so Netflix was kind enough to send a compilation of season 1 recently. OMFG, this is an instant classic. Mr Crabs? Great! Patrick? Hysterical! Bob? He's pretty good too! I'm 40 years old and not ashamed to say-I LOVE SPONGEBOB.
  14. I've been drinking the Ommegang Hennepin Farmhouse Saison lately. Good stuff. Its nearly 7 bucks a bottle by my house. Pricey but worth it. Is that around what ya'll are paying for it?
  15. I like that 'brown the paste' idea!!
  16. Love that soundtrack.....scored it on vinyl last summer at an estate sale
  17. Congrats Bjorn, you have indeed discovered a key component to a well made sauce. A second, well less known component is red pepper sauce. I havent been able to find it lately so I make my own. Once you start putting pureed red pepper in spaghetti sauce, you'll never go back. Shhhhh, its a secret!
  18. Lentils, my friend, lentils!
  19. There's a flick about the Monks?!? I love that band........must see movie now.....
  20. Grateful Dead at Winterland, 12/31/78 is a very nice commercially released concert flick.
  21. I'd love to hit one of Levon's barn gigs. I've heard nothing but great things about it. Side note.....Levon is in the film "The Three Deaths of........" (some spanish guys name, dont recall the details). He plays a blind guy. I almost jumped out of my seat when I realized it was him....he looked soooooo f'n bad, old n torn up. I really kinda freaked out. After doing a bit of research, it came to pass that it was just movie magic, he isnt in nearly as bad shape in reality, thankfully.
