Does anyone else think the band texting is hilariously weird?

I think the 9:30 webcast last night cured me. When I woke up this morning, I felt GREAT! I just hope that I wasn't going into Wilco withdrawl and that gave me my fix and tomorrow I'm going to be curled in the corner of my bedroom, naked, shivering, covered in sweat.

^^ That was a Jeopardy before and after question. I laughed heartily. Add one more song to the Wilco 2009 Spring/Summer/Fall (NOT WINTER) Residency.

TWBB is visually spectacular. I cannot get over how beautiful almost every shot is. Although these are the two front runners for the Best Pic Oscar, I think the best movie this year is The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. If you haven't seen it, you really need to. The story is beautiful and Julian Schnabel paints a vivid picture of locked-in syndrome.

Well, I got viral pneumonia. Spent a day in the hospital on Thursday, blood tests up the ying yang to make sure I wasn't going to bring viral meningitis or some other crippling disease to a college campus. Now, I'm on some cough syrup with codine and horse pills. Oh, and I have a strained intercostal muscle that the doc says I probably injured during one of the Kingpins (I played him the song when I was explaining what I've been doing the last week). Strangely, I really don't mind after seeing those shows and seeing all you lovely people. (I promise I'll introduce myself next time)

18 Shot at Northern Illinois U., DeKalb Campus
virtualreason replied to Twisted Acres's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
This hits WAY too close to home, both as a college student in Madison, and one that studies atmospheric and oceanic sciences. I've been talking with some people about this and, sadly, it's one of those things that we have to learn to live with (along with the threat of nuclear war and ebola). Just this morning I was zoning out during a lecture, and the thought crossed my mind, "What would I do if someone came in here and started shooting?" It's a terrifying notion, it really is. All you can hope for is that families and friends will stop people from doing this; take the time to ask someone wha -
Somthing crossed my mind on the bus today...Does anyone think there could be a chance a Mr. Andrew Bird, Chicagoan, violinist, past Wilco-helper, makes an appearence to help inject some awesomeness into such songs as Jesus, Etc and Dreamer in My Dreams?

Logic dictates I Must Be High, but my hope is for Less than you Think--complete with drone.

I'm happy that the Northern swing isn't until August. This keeps my Montreal>Bosont>NYC>Philly>Cleveland>Indy>Chicago trip intact.

Radiohead (sort of) Announce American Tour
virtualreason replied to stickman's topic in Someone Else's Song
It looks like tomorrow is the day we've been waiting for. There's one already-->here. I gotta wonder why tickets are for sale through Ticketmaster. Couldn't they just release tix exclusively through the WASTE site? Or is there some venue bullshit that keeps them from doing this? -
Don't believe forecast models for temps in winter. Within 2-3 days, they're pretty accurate, but they don't take into consideration snowfall and the extra cooling that accompanies it very well. I'd bet for temps Friday to be 20/10.

A Brad Paisley cover would be a cool addition to the residency....
-
I'm reminded of Jeff's "Fuck the Grammys" story from one of the Vic solo shows in 2003. If they're at the ceremony and they win....awwwwkwaaaard.

How did you hear of the presale Bri? I never got any notice.

That week of concerts is going to be awesome. I just hope that the Madison show gets moved to the Barrymore--my hatred for the Orpheum is immense. I've read a lot of love for Okkervile, but I've never heard them before. Should I expect a good live show?
-
Wow, this fits nicely into the calendar, so long as profs don't go switching around exam days. What are his live shows like? I can't imagine the enjoyment of, say, a Tweedy show because, imo, Colin comes off as a prick.

ITMWLY would sound good, but I think Hoodoo Voodoo would suit it if they do a live-type version.
