  1. My list so far: Frightened Rabbit - Midnight Organ Fight Elbow - Seldom Seen Kid Sigur Ros - Me
  2. I got 2 in row G. I'm guessing the first few rows are reserved for students/staff/faculty of UI. Let's hope for non-dick students! FYI: I'm still pulling tickets in rows G and J....keep at it.
  3. I watch this with a bunch of fellow Meteorology majors every week. When I flipped out seeing that, they didn't understand....nor when I said "That shirt is so cock."
  4. What Light Christ for President Passenger Side Jesus, Etc. The Late Greats California Stars I Shall be Released Wilco the Song ITMWLY It was a fun show. Feingold spoke before they went on and tried to act like he had Wilco cred. He mentioned how he liked the Mermaid Avenue Wilco cds and their cover of I Shall be Released, and when I say mentioned, I mean he read them (haltedly) off of a piece of paper in his hand. The performance was what was to be expected--nothing spectacular, but pretty friggin good nonetheless. I cannot get over how good Jeff sounds these last couple years, and it just k
  5. I think it is you just need to present an ID, not a UW student ID, to pick up your ticket at will call. And I have heard that the two pick-up locations were doing things differently, ie the Obama HQ was not letting non-students get tix, while those outside the Justice Building allowed everyone to do so.
  6. I'm so excited for this. Had to go through the line 3 times to get my friends in--I'm a good friend...waiting in the cold for 90 minutes. Seeing a couple other VCers in line reminded me of the residency (and made me antsy for that announcement!)
  7. Looks like there's no sleeping in for me tomorrow....
  8. My birthday is Monday....greatest. gift. so far.
  9. The set you have is missing Paranoid Android between Videotape and Bangers
  10. The whole band covered in Nudie Suits was incredible. Even The Total Pros had them; complete with their respective instruments on the back--purple suits too....quite nice. I'm a little miffed that they played for only 1.5 hours, but, then again, it's a festival. Another great show in Chicago.
  11. New forecast: Friday - Mid 80's with a 40% chance of rain through the day, clearing during the evening. (I don't think it'll get that warm with all the cloud cover) Saturday - 80 degrees, sunny, not humid....we lucked out folks. Sunday - Mid 80's and sunny, but much more humid. Doesn't matter for me, because there's nobody I really want to see that day.
  12. But Walken, Impossible Germany, What Light, and Let's Not Get Carried Away gave you good impressions from their titles? Reservations was originally a song about a table for two at Gino's. I'm excited for this one because it seems like the title could be steeped in irony.
  13. That's what she said. I thought the movie was well paced. I found myself wondering how much could be left and really not wanting it to end. It's exciting from start to finish.
  14. Dark Knight and Wall-E--two great movies, easily two of the best this year. I'm sorry you can't appreciate them.
  15. Christ...that is one intense interview. Radiohead teaming with Wilco is a dream of mine. I wonder if they could do a version of Box Full of Letters [story behind that: I discovered Wilco by downloading a song that was tagged "Wilco and Radiohead - Box Full of Letters"]
  16. One of the mods posted it this morning. He's vehemently denying anyone else coming on tour with them in the fall.
  17. From the SR messageboard today: The North American fall tour will not have Amiina (the string quartet of fine ladies that have accompanied the band for the last 5 years) on stage with the band. I'm a little worried about this. There is no way the beauty and grandeur of SR songs will withstand the absence of strings.
  18. That's a great story. What a lucky dog/son (for getting a dog). It reminded me of the first night my dog was home, some 12 years ago. She was whimpering so much that I woke up and crawled in her cage with her--me being 10 at the time and able to fit in there. Puppy memories are the best!
  19. Radiohead: In my bedroom as a kid, the TV picked up the MTV2 signal; sometimes it came in great (usually in the summer), other times it looked like scrambled porn. When I was 13, I saw the video for Just and was blown away. I went out and got every album and quickly became obsessed. The clincher was when I saw them on SNL and got Kid A a couple days later. Wilco: During my massive downloading of Radoihead b-sides and live songs that same summer, I downloaded Box Full of Letters and the song was tagged as Radiohead and Wilco. Didn't think much of it at the time, but I read a review for YHF a
  20. I must say though, I'm disappointed they skipped over WI--an all too disturbing trend. They played in Madison in 2002 and 2005, and Milwaukee in 2006. I know there will be a spring tour to hit the southern US, but I don't think they'll come this far north at that time
  21. Sigur Ros at Red Rocks....I think I'm there. (As well as Chicago or Minneapolis)
  22. BSS into Wilco....my prayers have been answered! I'm overall quite satisfied with the first two days, but what happened with Sunday? I love The National, but I can't see them headlining a stage at Lolla, especially after Flogging Molly. So those crazies, myself included, that like to camp out at a stage to be front and center for the headliner, will have to endure a pretty raucous set to get to The National? Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should see on Sunday before wandering over to NIN?
