I don't have Snow Leopard (even though, as a student, I can purchase it for $29). Can I assume that Quicktime Pro is not standard on Macs? Obviously there's QT on here, but I'm not sure about QT Pro. And, for full disclosure, I'm using my boyfriend's computer to do this and I'm nearly 100% Mac illiterate--you're totally leading the blind here.

I'm in the process of editing my demo tape for broadcasting and can't quite get the hang of using iMovie. There's no shot at getting Final Cut or anything like that, so iMovie is my only option. Here's where I'm at now: - All of my raw footage is loaded on the computer as .mov files (all the clips are between 30 and 50 minutes) - When I try loading all of the clips into iMovie, it promptly crashes (since that's a TON of video to throw at it) - My plan was to load each clip individually into iMovie and take what I want off of it and export that as a new, smaller .mov - this option appears, o

Any chance this could make its way to me? I checked on all the usual sites, and Owl and Bear, and can't seem to find it. I always love the 4 piece Wilco shows.

#1 - BOB Not disappointed in any way. This song got me amped for many-a volleyball game back in the day. I am surprised that Idioteque is all the way down at #8, but the top 20 surely captured my ideas of the top songs in the decade I was first musically relevant/aware.

Scanning through my iTunes, here are my 9 candidates for Pitchfork's #1 song of the decade: Sigur Ros - Untitled #8 (Popplagid) Radiohead - Idioteque (though my heart would be pulling for How to Disappear) Outkast - Hey Ya Outkast - B.O.B. LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends MIA - Paper Planes Rihanna - Umbrella Jay-Z - 99 Problems Arcade Fire - Wake Up I would be satisfied if all of those were scattered around the top 20. Toxic would have rounded out my list to 10, but it already showed up in the countdown.

I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised by the songs. My only worry is that the top ten are all Radiohead, Arcade Fire, and Kanye. Not that some of them wouldn't be justified, I'm expecting Pitchfork to "pull a Pitchfork" and throw all credibility out the window at some point.

The etix and Asthmatic Kitty sites were running mind-numbingly slow at 9am CDT. It took me until 9:08 or something but I still came away with two for Madison. I've never been in the Majestic before, but the pictures on its website look phenomenal. I feel very lucky because the last time I wanted to see Sufjan, he played in Milwaukee two weeks after I moved away for college, but tickets STILL sold out in an hour or so and I missed out. Those tickets were something around $50 when all was said and done; for this tour, I paid $19.50! This has the potential to be quite an experience. Kyle (I hav

Epically jealous of you. I cannot wait for his next solo album. In a related story, have you heard this? It's my favorite new song this year.
-
I hope you're right. Maybe by the time I get a job, tickets, floor tickets , will still be available.
-
It pains me that I can't afford tickets to these shows....

The triumvirate of Scottish indie rockers (We Were Promised Jetpacks, Frightened Rabbit, The Twilight Sad) are making two Florida stops on their fall US tour. Those are going to be INCREDIBLE shows...but I'll restrain myself and keep to the thread topic.

Wilco shows in Belgium since 2007: 5 (including the 2 scheduled) Wilco shows in Florida since 2007: 1 Just sayin.....
-
Ohhhh...I hope Roy Wilkins isn't true. That place sounds like ass.
-
The sound was great, but a seated venue is just not the place to see Wilco. It is a very sedated atmosphere with assigned seating, however, it will sound pristine. They are letting The Decemberists do a GA show there in a couple weeks, so if that goes well, maybe there will be hope for more of those in the future. I will be making trips around the Upper Midwest in October.

The National Cover Ashamed Of The Story I Told
virtualreason replied to redeyedndblue's topic in Someone Else's Song
I really like this song. The whole compilation is shaping up to be pretty good. The Thom Yorke cover that's included is one of my favorite songs of the year. Its ending melody is still in my head. I wish The National were coming to Madison...or I had a car to get to Milwaukee tomorrow. -
http://interbridge.com/lineups.html#LS I just saw this as I was making my website rounds. This takes all the guessing work out of which song they're going to play...

And the award for best use of a guitar as a phallus goes to....
-
Awesome weather AND a kick ass setlist? I wish I could have been there...at least I'll always have the ticket to remind me what could have been.
-
I could go with any Sigur Ros song here, so long as it culminated with Popplagid (Untitled #8). But the top song on my list is Motion Picture Soundtrack from Kid A. I don't actively listen to it much now because I so strongly associate it with my own death.

LIVE WEBCAST - SATURDAY, JUNE 27 - BERKELEY, CA
virtualreason replied to ditty's topic in Just A Fan
VC needs a "like" button a la Facebook so I can let everyone know that I like this post. -
I should add something constructive to this thread. This video really blew me away. Feist and Jeff have a certain chemistry on stage that's quite adorable. And the arrangement sounds fuller live than on the album; granted, I've only listened to the stream a handful of times.
-
You should just take that link down now, because it's against board policy to post video links. A mod should be through in a bit to clean it up.
-
I was really surprised they didn't squeeze in a Florida date when they were in the southeast in April. I'm not surprised that you guys get shafted--after all, you live in America's wang.
-
So long as it's GA shows, I'm all for that! Maybe they could play the Terrace in Madison before they set up shop there...

No problem. Enjoy your trip with your one suitcase.
