I am liking this a lot too. Far better, for me, than the last two Queens albums. Grohl is one of my fave drummers too.

Pixies' Doolittle 20th anniversary tour
Calexico replied to Three dollars and 63 cents's topic in Someone Else's Song
I saw them on that tour in Dublin and they were great admittedly but in fairness, for me, they have just lost the edge a bit and didn't mean as much to me as it might have back in the day. Now, I feel a little ambivalent about them as it seems a cash raking exercise as evidenced with that Minotaur box thing. -
Gorgeous, minimalist music. First track is a great piece for lovers of BSG, in particular.

Now, you are just taking the piss. -
Surely Frampton's album is in there. Lizzy's live one is there I remember seeing.

Bowie's Stage and Depeche Mode's 101 gets in there and no Rory Gallagher Irish Tour '74? Yeah, right...

I'd love to see the band do an album of old time country covers. Stuff from the Carter Family, the Louvins, Ralph Stanley...something like that. Even just a download sort of practise thing.

I really fell hard for Lambchop and love most of their stuff. Damaged didn't really do it for me and sadly neither did OH for the most part. Live they are a great experience though. In person, I mean. Not so sure how it translates to a live disc. Still, listening to the snippets on that page this sounds like a fun album.

I rather think it is good. As a weapon in the battle against insomnia. -

I also tried the GBV thing and remain completely unmoved. Also, the White Stripes are barely tolerable and most of the time painful to experience. -
I dunno about that. I saw them a couple of years ago and it was a bloody great show. Maybe the voices are not what they once were and maybe the energy of the occasion carried the show for the punters but it was still a rocking good time.

Thanks for the intro! Saves time if people know what I am like. Well, ghey or not...she is still hot to me. -

You have just described 99% of women really. So I am guessing your island will be called Sausage Cove? -

I wouldn't go so far as to say I hate Nash but he sure lucked out and won the lottery when he hooked up with Crosby and Stills. -

I had a thing for Cherry Jones, the woman who played POTUS in the last season of 24. Then I found out she is a (mod edit: rude word for gay). Now, I am conflicted. -

I watch CSI:Miami from time to time...yeah, I know....anyway, I always record it so I can fast forward thru the generic rap track playing across a scene of, usually, bikini clad AMW's dancing at some party with the ORANGE sky of Miami behind them. I cannot bear that sort of drip fed tv shot. -

Not a fan of the rap the kids play these days? I hate the generic use of some shitty rap track across opening montages and the like that now permeates every mainstream tv show. -

Nice one, make me look a complete idiot there. Care to emasculate me further or shall I just get my coat? -

Preach it, Brother! True dat! The old re-runs of the Whistle Test are streets better than any old shite on Jools Holland's show nowadays. -
Your favorite 80's American "college rock" band
Calexico replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
However much I love R.E.M. I will have to go with the Huskers this time. Massively important band for me. -
The Spanish Prisoner, now that's a great movie.

This isn't bad. At the very least it may encourage fans of Wilco who don't know anything about Moby Grape and Spence to investigate and expand their knowledge and that's no bad thing. Gary Louris did a great version of Little Hands a while back in a solo show.

Damn that is a great set of songs. This will be very interesting.
