  1. If Perles is elected to the MSU Board of Trustees next week, do you think he might put some pressure on Mason for the job? But seriously, who would want that job. The football team plays third banana to the Izzo's basketball team and the hockey team when it comes to administrative support, and they will never have a chance to get the same recruits that U of M, tOSU, and ND get.
  2. From the greatest blog about college football. I know it may be a strech, but did anyone who frequents this corner of the internets attend, and if so, could they confirm that the show was opened with The Victors? Go Blue!
  3. Belated congrats to the Cards and their fans for the WS win. And a huge thanks to the Tigers for a fantastic and exciting summer of baseball in the D.
  4. I was not aware of that he was cleared of the charges, but the equation states ARREST not CONVICTION so my equation could still technically be correct.
  5. DUI arrest = Death on spooky tropical island
  6. I assumed from the by-line that this occurred in Ypsi. According to the Bar Journal, 15th Dist. Ct (Main & Huron) covers A2, 14-B Dist Ct covers Ypsi Twp., and 14-A covers the rest of Washtenaw. And being picked up at 3:00 a.m. on the 13th would be early Friday a.m., so I assume it was the end of the Thursday night bender. The team probably left for Happy Valley later that Friday since it was an 8:00 pm kickoff.
  7. Arrington's status on the team could be in doubt. According to this AP report AA may need to go to AA. October 13 just happened to be the day before the game at Penn State.
  8. It looks like they gave the Peace Prize to a pretty decent guy. Like the Cubs, Cindy will have to wait 'til next year.
  9. Who would have thought that seeing Wilco in E. Lansing would not be the highlight of this weekend: #1. Cheering for the Tigers with 111,000+ at the U of M v MSU game. I even high-fived a Sparty fan when they announced the final score. #2. Michigan 31 - MSU 13, and it wasn't even that close. #3. Driving home from E. Lansing, searching for a sports radio station on the dial and then finally finding an ESPN radio station out of Chicago and listening to them talk about how The Gambler dominated the Yanks. #4. Wilco . . . #1,265,389 Picking up the walnuts in my backyard and mo
  10. Now it's up to the Gambler and Bondy to get us a shot at the A's. Leyland will have to make sure the Gambler gets at least 3 starts in that series as he owns the Athletics.
  11. Going back to Detroit, tied 1-1. Nice gritty comback for the Tigers.
  12. Those of us in E. Lansing will be thinking of you as we rock out to Spiders.
  13. Chinese report johnson joiner No further comments are necessary
  14. Club Soda is closing, may re-open in new location. The place definitely lost some of the magic after Wayne Dearing sold the place. Most of you probably won't care about this, but I know there are a few that may have some interest.
  15. I didn't see anyone mention The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. And I'm not positive but isn't Layla clocking in over 7 minutes? If it does, it should be included on this list.
  16. Since you can't play all 6 of 'em, what do you want for McGahee? I seem to have a plethora of WRs and a dearth of RBs.
  17. I can't believe that no one has told you the tried and true solution to your problem: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas
  18. I may be wrong, but I think this is the first year all schools can schedule 12 games. As the schedules are set a few years in advance, the Ball State week was originally supposed to be Michigan's open week. As much as I would have loved a rematch of the 2005 Rose Bowl against Texas or a match-up with a strong SEC team (sorry, Vandy doesn't count), I think U of M will be scheduling a late season MAC team to fill up the byes for the next few years.
  19. And since Sparty is going to get his ass kicked in A2 the next day, I am planning on doing just this. But seriously, MSU has a very nice campus and there are plenty of bars nearby.
  20. Front row center in the Wharton Center . . . Sweeet! You are going to love those seats. and yes, I know the show is in the Auditorium, not the Wharton
  21. I was going to say that I don't have much confidence in Lloyd's boys this year, but hell, if cryptique is behind them, so am I. Go Blue!
  22. And then when Millen asks him what he called that performance, the sideline microphone picks up Joey screaming The Aristocrats
  23. No disrespect to Culpepper, but I would love to see Joey start the Thanksgiving game against Detroit.
