I may be wrong, but I think this is the first year all schools can schedule 12 games. As the schedules are set a few years in advance, the Ball State week was originally supposed to be Michigan's open week. As much as I would have loved a rematch of the 2005 Rose Bowl against Texas or a match-up with a strong SEC team (sorry, Vandy doesn't count), I think U of M will be scheduling a late season MAC team to fill up the byes for the next few years.

And since Sparty is going to get his ass kicked in A2 the next day, I am planning on doing just this. But seriously, MSU has a very nice campus and there are plenty of bars nearby.
