  1. Lucky for me I was watching Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl most of the night.
  2. Am I mistaken, or did the who get a shorter time segment than previous acts? Maybe it just seemned shorter since I like The Who. Since the Super Bowl has become known for extra special commercials, there's no incentive at all to produce a half time show that people want to tune in for.
  3. The Who definitely wipes the floor with Whom. I can't believe that's even up for debate.
  4. Looks great except for the Chickenfoot headstock.
  5. Lenny Kravitz'll probably do it.
  6. At first, I thought the rhythm guitarist was Joe Satriani. I also detected some synch problems. During the harmonica part of Who Are You, Zach Starkey didn't appear to be playing what I was hearing. I'll bet there was a time delay during that song because it contains the F word. There were also several instances where the audio cut out entirely.
  7. No way Dylan will do the half time show. Steven Seagal is more likely.
  8. I picked up a couple of the Road Worn Fenders at Guitar Center and tried them out. They do have a nice worn in feel, especially the necks, but they look like the fakes that they are. I would never feel right about playing or owning one. If you saw me holding/playing one, it'd be obvious that something doesn't add up. I don't look anything like Keith Richards (who, incidentally, owns much of the credit/blame for the relic phenomenon), or someone who has spent years touring the roadhouse circuit with the same guitar. Having said that, I'll soon be ordering a replacement body for my Tele

72? When I was a kid my family had a record player that played at 16 rpm. I wouldn't want to play WTA on 16. I used to work in a restaurant that a membership deal with some sort of muzak-esque company. They provided the restaurant with a cassette player that played their cassettes at super slow speed, allowing their cassettes to hold several hours of music. One night after the boss went home and it was almost closing time, we switched out the special muzak cassette with a normal-speed cassette of Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica. We were overwhelmed with customer complaints b

  15. Somewhere in this story there is a "my spidey-senses are tingling" joke.
  16. I mean, like, a musician who is not the front-person/star. I remember seeing one musician during Beyonce's act, but that was only because she had a bullseye painted on her guitar. If Wilco played on the Grammys would they make Jeff Tweedy prance around the stage with a bunch of dancers while the other guys were hidden?
  17. I watched all I could stand and bailed just in time to watch Smokey and the Bandit on HBO. Were there any performances in which the musicians were visible or were they all cloaked in darkness behind dozens of dancers?
  18. Any year in which Les Paul dies cannot be described as a slow year for deaths. Not to mention Michael Jackson.
  19. Every time I listen to this my mind drifts away from it after 4 songs, or so. There's good stuff on here, but it's lacking the magic of the old Polvo. Part of it is that the drummer is too technically advanced.
