Thanks. We call her Tunes. I have no idea where you live, but if you're going to be handing out rib bones I'll let Tunes off leash and she'll be in your yard within 15 minutes.

Nice work on the chairs! Noodle looks kinda similar to my Petunia, with the light, short fur and skin spots.

Great tension-building guitar solos

That seems more like a tension-releasing solo, rather than a tension-building one. Sorry if that's a nit-picky comment, that's just how it feels to me. Awesome solo, in any event. -

I think it's kind of dull, but it's enjoyable to listen to once in a while. If I live another 50 years, my lifetime total number of spins for this record will probably be less than 100.

That's almost as scary as the Flaming Lips guy blaming his heroin addiction on a brown recluse is funny. -
I'm pretty sure he still has Abe Laboriel, Jr. on drums.

Wow, I remember that day. So much time has passed, it's hard to believe. I never got to see SRV. I really should have gone to the Beck/SRV tour when I had the chance. I think I have all of his Austin City Limits appearance on VHS tape. Those performances were highly inspirational to me and my friends/bandmates. I'm not a good guitar player, but Tuesday night I was playing my guitar and without thinking I came up with a chord sequence that reminded me of "Lenny". Maybe there was something in the air. Hopefully this weekend I can come up with a suitable melody to put on top of those ch

Well, if it causes one person to throw Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavillion in the garbage, then I'd call it a resounding success. I need to get Ram. I've never heard a non-Wings Paul solo album in it's entirety.

Are these guys better than Chickenfoot?

I don't know. When I was a little kid I spray painted one of these blue. It died pretty quick, but it didn't seem to suffer. It twitched once or twice and then stopped and after a few days it either fell off its web or something came along and ate it. We get lots of garden spiders every fall, and I think they're quite beautiful. The spray painting incident is not something I'm proud of. -

I saw one of those on the sidewalk of a strip mall when I was 15. I ollied over it on my skateboard. True story. Another time, my wife and I stayed in a cabin in Talladega National Forest in Alabama. There were numerous baby scorpions running around in the cabin when we got there. -

Why not just take her hand and make HER squish it? Then make her put it in her own mouth. -
I'm going to attempt to settle this John vs. Paul thing in a minute by comparing Paul's "Maybe I'm Amazed" and John's "Jealous Guy" as performed by Faces (box set, disc one versions). Ok, I've now listened to both. Tough call. Both are fantastic songs. I think Faces version of "Maybe I'm Amazed" is better than Paul's version (better guitars, rocks more, nice vocal trade off between Rod Stewart and Ronnie Lane). Faces version of "Jealous Guy" is not as good as John's (probably an equal if not better instrumental arrangement, but Rod Stewart chose to leave out a crucial note in the

As long as I'm breathing they're guaranteed to sell at least one copy.

So, Puffy Ami Yumi are good? I see their cds at the library all the time, but have always passed them over. I think the "cute factor" tricked me into thinking the music couldn't possibly be any good. Now I'll probably never see their cds again. My old band opened for Electric Eek Shock several years ago. They were really incredible. Good call.

This was going to be my pick. I hope I'll get to see them one day.

That's probably true. Without the benefit of looking through song lists: Paul was stronger than John in terms of writing happy melodies. "Your Mother Should Know", "I've Just Seen a Face", "Got to Get you Into My Life", etc. John was stronger than Paul in terms of writing darker songs and songs that lyrically skewed. "I'm So Tired", "Happiness is a Warm Gun", "Come Together", etc.

If it weren't for Lennon, McCartney would have sang "You can buy me golden rings" instead of "Baby you can drive my car". Shudder.

I'm not even close to fitting into either of those categories.
