  1. According to the website - Doors 6:30pm. Show at 7:30pm. So that would mean Nick Lowe at 7:30 and I'm not sure about Wilco. I wonder if curfew will be enforced at these shows?
  2. I'll be there on the floor in the back left. I'm extremely excited and I really need these concerts in my life right about now. I wonder if they'll do a poster series similar to the residency for these 5 shows?
  3. So I was fortunate enough to get tickets for all of the shows next week and I've given the other 4 to legit Wilco fans in my circle of friends. I'd rather have a real fan check out the 5th show. PM me if you're interested. They came out to about $55.00 a piece after charges. The 1 necessity is that you get to the Riv at 7:00 PM on Tuesday to get in line. It is paperless and I need to have my guest with my as I walk in.
  4. Just got an email from Jam Productions that says the following: Civic Opera House - Nick Lowe Riviera - Eleventh Dream Day Vic - Jon Langford and Skull Orchard Metro - The Paulina Hollers Lincoln Hall - Fred Armisen So it looks like there won't be any "Night With Wilco"s, but I'm looking forward to Nick Lowe and Eleventh Dream Day. EDIT - Sorry - saw this was posted earlier.
  5. Sorry some of you had a bad experience, but I agree, the sitting/standing thing can ruin a show for sure... Not to get off topic, but I saw Paul McCartney at Wrigley Field this past summer, and almost got into a fight because of it. I'm 27 and the gentleman behind me was probably near 50, and he was screaming at me to sit down every time I stood up (he was the only one sitting down in the section, but because of the angle, if I sat down, he'd be able to see sitting down). He yelled at me through the first 5 songs, and tried spitting at me. He quieted down, and continually drank his beers,
  6. Probably a shot in the dark, but does anybody have an extra to the Lincoln Hall show. I have 2 tickets to each of the other 4 chicago shows, and would be willing to trade my extra for any 2 of the other 4 shows, plus the difference.
  7. Same here. And I thought trying to listen to the Lou Reed/Metallica album would have been my worst experience of the week. Seems like a bunch of you got lucky so that's good. Lincoln Hall is a great venue and Wilco is Wilco so I'm sure you're in for a special show.
  8. Well this has ruined my day... Guess I should offer - if anyone was able to get 2 and has an extra... I'd be willing to take you as my guest to any 2 of the other 4 shows and also pay you the difference. Anybody?
  9. Did you just reload the page and it said BUY again?
  10. Anyone, I have an extra for the Opera House and the Vic... I'll take you to one if you take me to the Metro. Deal?
  11. Then I guess it just took The Whole Love to put them over the top with their Chicago fan base. Either that or scalpers are going to lose a lot of money.
  12. They are not able to find enough tickets in my section...
  13. I've been here 18 minutes. You can come up here and do a "chat and cut" if you'd like. I'm the guy in the yellow hat.
  14. I tried to get on the presale website for today to check out the price, and it put me in a virtual waiting room. So now you have to wait 10 minutes before tickets even go on sale. I think if Lady Gaga toured with the Jonas Brothers and 2Pac it would be easier to get tickets than a Wilco show in Chicago.
  15. I hope everyone was able to get tickets - no matter how close to the stage. I've never been to a rock show at the Civic Opera House, but I have a feeling the sound will be great anywhere you sit, even in the nosebleeds, so don't get too upset about seat location. Those of you who didn't get any - if you wait it out closer to the show you can probably snag one on craigslist for near face value. Not everyone that resells tickets are evil, just the ones who have 3rd row tickets for $500 on Stubhub after a will call only Wilco presale.
  16. I used Google Chrome and reloaded starting at 9:59, and right at 10:00 the option came up to buy tickets. I like Google Chrome better than IE when buying tickets, because I ran into the problem you had many times over the years. Think it's an issue with cookies.
  17. Unless you are singing along, saying "that was great" or "my water broke", or asking an usher where your seat are, you should be escorted out of the building for talking at a concert.
  18. I got through right at 10 and grabbed a pair from the Jam Productions presale. They are main floor, but in the back left. I wonder how the sound is back there.... The guy next to me at work got in at the same exact time and tried the XRT presale and they were gone. Buying tickets is getting to be a huge pain...but I'm happy I grabbed a pair and I'm hoping at least some of you were able to get some.
  19. This. For sure. The best song will never get sung. The best life never leaves your lungs.

  21. Seems like that would be McCartney. He's playing baseball stadiums, sometimes multiple nights.
  22. Great lyrics. I get the chills. And when my 3 year old niece laughs. Probably the best thing in the world.
  23. I agree with most of you here. This album is kind of falling in the "nothing special" category for me. Evil Urges wasn't great, but it had "Smokin From Shootin" on it which is one of my favorite MMJ songs ever. This one is consistent, but consistently mediocre. I'm thinking "Victory Dance", "Circuital," "Outta My System," and "Holdin On To Black Metal" are the only songs that'll make the cut on the iPod. Maybe I'll change my mind after seeing them at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza...
