The Blisters are sellouts for sure, but they sort of lost their magic a while back with all the coke and groupies.

I've never actually used this program but I would like to get my hands on it as I have heard good things, too bad its 200 bucks.

I just recently got a Tascam 4-track and need to buy a mic. What would be the best all around mic for this purpose. I'm not looking for anything fancy or to spend a lot of money, just something to get the job done.

Yeah I can't think of any major label (Lost Highway is part of Universal Music Group) that would allow an output like Ryan's. edit: I am pumped for this although I'm sure I have at least half

Well, this is all imo, naturally, but i thought GBMS was awful and all of this Raconteur nonsense was even worse, basically I haven't heard anything worth listening to from this guy since Elephant. I also heard the single (title track if i recall correctly) and was not impressed, but i know not to expect WS albums to sound anything like their lead singles.

anyone get tickets to the boston (somerville) show? my friend ended up with balcony row J at 10:00 sharp, i'm still pumped to go though

The first encore looks like some of the greatest 25 minutes of live Wilco ever.

These are from the Dec 4 and 5 2005 shows at the Mideast in Boston. I was at the 12/5 one, it was sick but a while before Beyond so no new songs.

Although I haven't read all 10 pages of replies to this, here is my 2 cents. If the fact that your favorite band has a song in a car commercial or a CD for sale at Starbucks affects the connection you make with their music or the enjoyment you get out of listening to their music, then I can see your frustration. But the way I see it is "good for them." Yes music is an art but its also a marketable commodity, if Jeff and the band are making some extra bucks on the incredible music they create, good for them, they are amazing musicians and songwriters. Elektra, like Reprise and Nonesuch is a Warner label, so really not much of a problem.

Tough call. I'd say side 3 is the most consistent but side 2 is pretty tasty as well, I'm just not too big a fan of the title track. Also would consider side 1. Basically, I think What Light and Walken should be replaced by One True Vine and Lets Not Get Carried Away.
-
I've always thought that was never what it could have been.

Funny, I felt Walken stands out as the odd song on this album (as you pointed out, perhaps inadvertently). I don't like it very much, kind of fits into the album like Late Greats does in AGIB. If anything I would have preferred Lets Not Get Carried Away as its replacement...its a better song and has a drum solo.

I like these three songs, I agree "Two" is great. Not much variety or freshness, but sometimes thats not necessary with Ryan's songs.

His awesomeness (no, he has nothing new out to my knowledge).
