  1. Well yeah it is rock and roll lol. Plus who wants to be a mile away. At least this gives everyone a fair opportunity to get close or good seats. You know many people can't afford the "good seats". Plus I like to be able to move at a concert rather then stay seated. I like the vibe better in a dance hall. Plus I find a club to be more intimate since everyone will be closer; except you since your not going (sorry low blow i know).
  2. I don't what all the Bullshit about the Rivera is all about. Am I the only one who prefers a standing room concert. Yes the place is a dump; its part of the charm your going to hear rock and roll. Where else in Chicago would they have been able to play and made it standing room? The Argon is ten times worse and they've out grown The Vic. Chill out the riv isn't that bad, by the time the week is over you'll be feeling nostalgic about walking through a river of urine to get to the bathrooms. As for not getting tickets, yes it sucks. ITS NOT THE END of the world. Here are some
  3. I don't even want this show but can't help but laugh reading "some dudes had a talk with me" I have visions of a taper Mafia coming to A-man's door.
  4. Really, I'm sure you can pick it up over the web somewhere. David Gans= good dj poor musician lol
  5. Your probably right. I don't think Ive been to a Wilco show (except at the vic) where their weren't people selling tickets out front.
  6. Fri. and Wen.! Bookending it. Hopefully when I have more cash I can score a monday.
  7. come on, lol. That song isn't that bad (esp. considering its Billy Joel). He's done much worse for himself "Pressure" ring a bell?
  8. got two for wed. trying to get two more for monday or friday. Now i have to get up at 9 and take the train to get online. wonderful!
  9. Should we be more trustworthy then? They have a live band in there? Cover?
  10. Is carols that C&W (both kinds) bar a block south of lawernce? Me and my girlfriend wlak by there all the time but never trust going in. Across the street from my place is Wrigglyville North, they have the strangest clinetel ive ever seen and a country band to boot
  11. Your not the only one in this spot. I don't understand why bands give dates and put them on sale the same week. If the show is going to sell out its going to sell out. Giving people the time to save money doesn't hurt anyone. This is a tough time of the year for most people to be forking out money. Thanks to my heat bill I never have extra cash lying around this time of the year.
  12. If anyone is planning on getting the package and can't go each night PM me. I'd like to go to more then one but since Wilco annonced the show this week there is no way I have that kind of money to throw down on tickets. I'd be able to pay someone for nights they cant use prior to the show I'd just need december to save up. Thanks! And good luck getting tickets everybody. I don't think it should be that hard for the non weekend shows.
  13. Anyone know what the current ticket bastard service charge? my mouse doesn't work so its hard for me to navigate their site.
  14. Did you goto the one on Halsted? I fucking hate that place. Its actully the guitar center I was speaking form experince on.
  15. It's defintely relativly safe if you stay around the theatre, it does get a bit sketcky as you go south. North as well (but only because its very secluded, most everything in the area is shut down by 9). You really have no reason to be worried though the train is right by the venue and there will be lots of cabs by the venue. I would reccommend saving your money and taking a train back from the shows. The red line is a block from the venue and only costs 2 dollars. If your staying in the loop (i'd assume around grand or lake or even Jackson) its not going to be more then 30 min. on
  16. Couldn't agree with you more. I bought my girlfriend an epiphone Hummingbird for about 300 at GC and she loves it. good action and a great sound. not a bad guitar for a first guitar.
  17. Anyone have any clues how much the five pack is going to go for. also does anyone know if they do a service charge for Riveria tickets sold at the vic. I rember last year Andrew Bird didn't have a serivce charge at the vic, but the bright eyes tickets i bought the same day did. just trying to budget for the rest of the week so mabye I can do 2 (if i get enough back re-selling school books then maybe 3)
  18. My only advice would be weary of GC. You may be get a good deal but they sell guitars like their cars. They pressure you a lot. I have also herd about them reselling used stuff as new. many times they don't even have the box the guitar came in. Just use your best judgement. You can find a great deal sometimes

  20. Hope you had nothing to do but smile, smile, smile! Happy Birthday!
