  6. Is this still avaible somewhere; isn't the link dead?
  7. I like the way as it goes on he gets more and more into it. lol too much.
  8. I agree with some of your points. The documentary aspect did really ruin a lot of the movie for me. But everyones different for instance I hated the scenes with Ledger; in my mind he was the worst actor in the film (what was up with the scene were he rips on female artists anyone know where that was coming from?). They could have done a lot better with the dialogue; especially with the press there is so much great dialogue in Don't Look Back and random interivews they could have ripped which would have said a lot more. I also thought if you don't know Dylan your probably not going t
  9. Less Than You Think is one to give me the chills; especially in a live setting. One of my favorite live Wilco moments was when they opened the New Years 04 with this one. Spotlight on Jeff, the band slowly comes in, pretty powerful build up. The moment that really grabs me each time is when John comes in on "And your spine starts to shine and you shiver at your soul, a fist so clear a climbing punches a hole in the sky so you can see". What an a great tune. :thumbup
  10. looks great but its not on netflix any idea where i could see this?
  11. Also I highly recommend "Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out Of Balance" its the first of three films that deal with how humans have disrupted the balcnce of lifeo n our planet. There is no dialogue, but Philip Glass scores all three films. I just watched the second film last night and can't recommend these films enough. If that sounds like something you might enjoy I also recommend "Baraka" it will def. give you an appreciation for our planet. Another great documentary is "When The Levees Broke" the three part mini series by Spike Lee. And if you like foreign films "Salaam Bombay" is an excell
  12. Human Nature was fantastic. Wasn't expecting it to be very good but I def. liked it.
  13. Check out Robert Altman's "Short Cuts" saw this a few weeks ago and loved it. "The Straight STory" Disney and David Lynch? Its actually really good; a few poorly acted scenes but over all i really liked it. "Down By Law" Tom Waits, John Laurie, Roberto Bengini in a jail cell for an hour and a half; I coudn't stop laughing. if you haven't seen "Planet Earth" I can't recommend it enough. Some of the most jaw dropping nature footage youll ever see. Even if your not usually into this stuff I'd say check it out.
  14. I feel you somewhat. I agree some of the tunes don't take off because of the slower tempos (Bertha is a great example), but the playing is so tight. The transitions are phenomenal. And the sound quality doesn't hurt at all. B) :shifty

  16. Part of the reason he has no shot is because the media won't give him one. From day one he was addressed as a guy with great ideas who didn't have a chance. Thus discouraging anyone from supporting him. I can agree that he would be a drastic change but I think most people would say the Oval Office needs a face lift. They did the same thing to Nader when he ran. I'm a firm believer that the media ultimately decides who is going to get the nomination.
  17. ha. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. My friends used to joke that he looks like he won the "chance to be in wilco" contest
  18. As I pointed out in my post there are plenty of examples like the one you mentioned. But I can almost promise you won't find other tunes Rollin and Tumblin or Someday Baby that steal:lyrics, tune, and melody. Hard Times has more changes. As for putting it in a vacuum. It should be. Its a piece of art. Just because Picasso painted Guernica doesn't make all of his other painting good. Shouldn't you enjoy a piece of music because its good (and thats fine if you thinK MT is good but you are telling me to put it into context)? I mean Down in The Groove, Knocked Out Loaded, sure they can be
  19. What is so great about Modern Times? I don't understand all the praise it continues to get. Throw away the fact that a lot of it is stolen. The band never gets any real energy going, the lyrics are half assed. Again my opinion. I'm interested to hear why others think its such a great album. I really think that if Joe Nobody put the record out it would have gone unnoticed. I thought it was great marketing that helped this album the most (and the right timing).
