Something about these guys rubs me the wrong way. I'm sure any dead head who owns a guitar would love to play dead songs to people in some capacity. But to stand in the same spots, play the same shows, take on players. Just to odd for me. On top of all that they charge a shit load for being a cover band. Do they really have it? As you can guess i've never given them a chance.

thought id drop some recommendations in that haven't been mentioned. Mexican Buena Vista 3147 N. Broadway Ave., The best mexican food I've found in Chicago, its a great little hole in the wall; small, clean, great atmosphere, authentic and very reasonable (a burrito plate is around 6 bucks; great enchiladas as well; i dont eat meat but i hear they have great soups). Its right next to reckless records which is a great stop if your not from chicago. Sushi Matsuya 3469 N Clark St I like it here better then the others mentioned, its affordable and has a large selection of v

Yeah Son Volt isn't to hot live, or on record (in my mind) I will say I enjoyed them a lot more at Lolla this year then when i saw the band in 04.

I just got a new mac book. I'm about to head out on a week long road trip and wanted to bring my computer. Only problem is the case I have for my old macbook pro is way to big. Does anyone own a good durable, heavily padded computer bag for a macbook that they could recommend? I leave on the third so id probably have to order today if i want to get it in time and all of the stores are cleared thanks to santa and co.

Quick question regarding "You Are My Face"...
jc4prez replied to Relatively Clean Rivers's topic in Just A Fan
That would be really cool if it is, I just finished reading the Bluest Eye. I always took it as a child screaming at a parent from inside his room with the door shut. -
what an awesome film, i'll have to look for him next time I watch the movie.

A.M. : Dash 7 Being There : Why Would You Wanna Live? Mermaid Ave: At My Window Sad And Lonely Summerteeth: When You Wake Up Feeling Old Mermaid Ave. 2 : Feed Of Man Yankee Hotel Foxtrot: Ashes Of American Flags AGIB: Less Then You Thik SBS: You Are My Face As for your question Froggie, if they don't I think they'll catch a lot of shit. There would be no reason for them to have marketed it the way did. In 05 they played a bunch of rarities at the Vic shows and didn't do this kind of marketing.

its def on the traders den thats were I originally came across it. -
While they are fillers I really like the first one and it would have been cool to have had it run throughout the disc, it kind of reminded me of Steve Riech's work.

Where to start with The Grateful Dead?

I don't know about that theory for that show but I know Phil did a three show run at the warfeild a few years back where the first show was life followed by death followed by rebirth. A-man thanks for think. I think i'll be able to burn that version, I believe the problem in the past had something to do with burning a dvd of that size; since its on two discs I think i can do it. Does anyone know of a "free" program that will allow me to burn dvds so they can play on my television? Sadly all of my concert dvds are formatted for computer (I have to manually open the video Ts folder). -

WOuld anyone be able to send me a copy of Sunshine Daydream? I've seen it several times but for some reason can't burn it. If you could help me out shoot a PM yonder. -
I would be bummed too but you do know someone pays for this site to be up, people also use this site to get information about Wilco. I'm not saying this isn't the right place to vent, I hate ticketbastard as much as the next guy but how many threads do we need. Especially when you see how many of these people posting about not getting tickets haven't even been part of the board very long and they are flooding it. Also who says it was rigged. I highly doubt the music today presale was. They had a "limited number of tickets" the venue isn't huge. Factor in how many people came out to th

Exactly, I couldn't help but feel alienated at the millennium park show. Plus I have read Jeff say numerous times that he feels obligated to rock out when there are that many people there. I don't know about you guys but Wilco's "rock" songs aren't why I love Wilco. The energy they create in a small environment is amazing.

Don't usually read current books but did pick up the Road and loved every page of it. I just finished reading Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" some of the info is dated but still a great read. I have a lot to read over break; I'm currently reading Virgina Wolf's "A Room of One's Own" and also reading Howard Zinn's "peoples history of The United States 1943-Present".
