Birthday wishes to dixiecupdrinker
dixiecupdrinker replied to Lammycat's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
My goodness! Thanks folks! It was a pretty tame one this year. I guess that's a sign of old age. Thanks, dcd -
Thanks for the synopses. Did you enjoy them? Are they worth the read? I'd have to read 2001 again, it's been a long time. dcd

Although he was quite the visionary, he said in his first interview, "I've never predicted the future. Or hardly ever. I extrapolate. Look, I've written six stories about the end of the Earth; they can't all be true!" I didn't realize there were two more sequels to 2001 and 2010. anyway, dcd

I found #1 and #3, no #2. Anybody? dcd

...and they were awarded with a "Faux Grammy". Good times. It was great seeing Jhamm, too! Safe travels back to N.C., my friend. I was standing a few feet behind the bra tosser. What a fun show! anyway, dcd

And, despite the fact that I've mentioned this before in its own thread, be sure to check out Johnny Cash Radio every Wednesday at: J.C. Radio dcd

I saw them at 9:30 Club and I think we're going to try to catch the Baltimore show. Need to figure out advanced sales and all that jazz. anyway, dcd

Today is my daughter's birthday!

Sorry I missed it, but happy birthday! dcd -
Is Drew back yet? He was gone, so I stopped listening to the stream for a while. anyway, dcd

It isn't exactly out and about, it's always at my desk at work, but the Dave Ramsey show always plays a few different tunes from SBS as their bumpers going into and coming out of commercials. anyway, dcd

Well.... um.... no comment. And... hey back at ya! dcd

I have a Garmin that bought when I left MI and moved to VA and year and a half ago. I love it. It has saved my arse many times. That being said, no matter how new the model, they do get stuff just plain wrong. Do not abandon paper maps and a trusty road atlas for long trips. Also, I find it doesn't do so hot in D.C. and you can forget about it when you get into traffic circles. The models that have their maps updated and the traffic reports cost extra for a subscription, right? How much is it every month? anyway, dcd

Got two for Tuesday night with no problems at all. This will be my second Wilco 9:30 show. anyway, dcd

I just got my two tix for the Tuesday night show. I didn't try for the Wednesday night show. I am very happy. anyway, dcd

Just saw No Country on Saturday and loved it. The g.f. said that a lot of the shots reminded her of Sergio Leone. Besides that, I really liked The Murder of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. The preview for the Daniel-Day Lewis movie about oil looks pretty sweet. anyway, dcd

Well...it's in the middle of the freaking work week so this may call for a **cough cough** sick day. anyway, dcd

Devices Enforce Silence Of Cellphones
dixiecupdrinker replied to augurus's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Really? I can't seem to escape this. I could've strangled the bee otch who insisted on talking through American Gangster the other night. I got to the point where out of frustration with her rudeness for not taking her important call out into the lobby that I pretty loudy said, "Are you f*cking kidding me? Take it outside!". I know her rudeness didn't excuse mine, but for what I pay to go see a movie now and then, I at least expect to be able to watch it with little distraction. Now I wish I could do something about the two old milkshakes who always seem to sit behind me and insist on -
You beat me to it. The Gordon Lightfoot song he covered on the last disc was especially moving. dcd

Traditional shaving
dixiecupdrinker replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I've been looking at fogless mirrors. They have one here I am considering. I brush in the shower, so I'd like to shave there, too. Do you have a good brand? I looked at the one they had on sale at Sharper Image, but the reviews all slagged on it, so I'm going to keep on looking. anyway, dcd -
Traditional shaving

I'd highly recommend some of this pre-shave oil by Anthony Logistics for Men. anyway, dcd -
Google is your friend. (It worked for me.) dcd
