  1. I recently have been getting into earlier Jayhawks stuff. I really enjoy Blue Earth! Anyways does anyone have the Bunkhouse Tapes? I know it is hard to find. Is it worth getting? Can anyone point me in the right direction to obtaining a copy? Any thoughts
  2. I am sure there probably aren't many Duran Duran fans on here but oh well. I went to see Duran Duran on Broadway and it was a treat. I have seen them before in an Arena but this was something different. First off the venue only holds 1200. Smallest venue they have played in years. They did a 3 act set including the new album in its entirety, an electronic set and the essential set. It was set up like a braoway show. They had a playbill, intermission and seat ushers...it was an unusual concert. The new album is almost a dance album. Funky and strange. The elctro set was fun. All 4 of the origin
  3. Any covers by Johnny Cash works for me especially... Rusty Cage (Soundgarden) Rowboat (Beck) Hurt (NIN) I also Like Toys in The Attic by REM (Aerosmith)
  4. I like Pablo Honey..its a great debut album from the 90's Brit Pop Era in My Opinion. I listen to it once in a while. I like You, Thinking About You, Prove Yourself, Lurgee and Blow Out is an awesome closer on the album. I wish they would play Blow Out live these days it would be awesome!
  5. I say the same thing about The Bends! Ok Computer is great though but Bends takes the cake! Doesn't get better than Just!
  6. Jayhawks are classic all albums have noteworthy songs! What about Matthew Sweet 100% Fun and Blue Skies on Mars...both wonderful underated pop albums! I put these on almost once a month!
  7. The show was remarkable Besides playing "Tell Me What I did", "Prince Charming", Secret Life of Morgan Davis" and "Amilia Bright" they played other rarities "Tom and Mary" "Emiline" "Last Polka" and a bunch of other off the wall stuff. The band was veeeeeeeery drunk and the setlist was about 28 songs long! On top of this Guster opened. What a show! The show was actually in April 2000.
  8. Ahh those are some good shows. Mine maybe not as exciting but to me they were. Elliott Smith- Maxwells, Hoboken, NJ June 2003. His 3rd to last show ever and in a tiny place to boot! Soul Coughing- Supper Club, NYC 1996? There last show ever...was not announced they were breaking up! Morphine- Bell Atlantic Jazz Fest, NY 1999- last? USA show before Mark Sandman died Depeche Mode- Bowery Ballroom- NYC Tiniest venue they played in USA in I dunno 20 years??? Flaming Lips- 1999 Fletcers Baltimore, MD Place held 250! Beck- 1996 Sessions at West 54th. Last show of Odelay tour, venue held 200 and se
  9. Yuh huh. I was on AOL back in 95 when they still charged $3.95 an hour! This when the remphish1 name started....
  10. Thats correct...all except the adult sites part!
  11. Yeah I made the screen name when I was 15 in 1995. My musical taste have changed drastically since then. I am too lazy to change my screen name in the about 100 web places I am registered to it with!
  12. How can you not vote for George! He has a song called "Thanks for the Pepperoni!"
  13. How bout this for a bill Jayhawks Soul Asylum Golden Smog Loose Fur Jeff Solo Jay Solo Son Volt Wilco Uncle Tupelo headlining! I would pay $250 for that!
  14. Yes so I did see the newly reformed Van Halen and I must admit it was an entertaining show. Eddie sounded great and Alex's playing was intense. Wolfgang did as good a job as he could have and looked confortable on stage. Dave, well he is quite the show man. He really seemed happy onstage. His antics are over the top but entertaining. He sounded good vocally and considering this is the third show of the tour I was impressed. They played all the hits you would expect as well as some lesser known jems. Check it out if you got time for it will surely provide an eveing of entertainment. Anyone else
  15. I do this too sometimes but it doesn't work for places where you have to pay parking. It would suck to pay parking then get no tickets. Bigger shows though are real easy, Police etc...
  16. I love to travel! As some of you know I ask for alot of travel advise on this page. So I figured it would be fun to share some stories and expierences. Maybe add your top 5 and we will go form there. Most intertesting Places I have been.... 1. Japan- Wow...its like your in the far future in Tokyo and ancient times are just a bullet train ride away in Kyoto. Kyoto is my favorite city I have ever visited. The buildings were impecable. The city was clean, interesting, peaceful and exciting all at the same time. Tokyo was great to but in a different way. 2. Israel- Jerusalem is a city no one sho
  17. I heard this live when Tweedy played Solo in NYC in the Downtown Music Series 2005? It was definatley one of the highlights of the show!
  18. One More Cup of Coffee is a Dylan song even though the Stripes have it on an album of theirs!
  19. I will be there in June...its for the honeymoon. Yep I know it is almost winter but I understand it is very mild. I am avoiding New Zealand because it will add on a lot of cost to my Qantas Aussie Passes...I will have to save that for next time! So it sounds like Ayers Rock might not be worth the trip. It sounds like from a bunch of people that these 4 cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns and Brisbane might do the trick. Do you know if it is feasible to do a day trip to Tasmania from Melbourne?
  20. So I know a few of you on here are from or have been to Australia. I am looking into visiting some of the following cities and am open to suggestions: Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Brisbane, Hobart, Ayers Rock, Perth, Auckland I am only there for 14 nights so was thinking 4 Sydney 4 Melbourne 3 Cairns 3 Brisbane Based on the other choices would you substitue any of these? Is Ayers Rock worth the trip? Should I save Auckland for another time? Is Hobart to far out of the way to visit? Is there anything to do in Perth? Any info would be great!
  21. I firmly believe Bob Dylans Band puts on a good show and Bob not so much. I know how important he was to music but his live show does nothing for me. I have seen him 5 times now since 1997 and the only show I liked was the first one I saw. Why did I see him more than once? He always seems to tour with other groups I want to see...Tom Petty, Willie Nelson etc. I couldn't recognized some of the songs because his voice was so gravely. He switches up setlist which I give him credit for but other than that I think he should take it easy.
  22. I have seen the Lips about 5 times. Each time it gets more ridiculous which I guess is their schtick. I wish though they would drop that stuff and play a rock show with just their instruments. All this technology leads them to never change their setlist. I woud love to see the Lips "Unplugged" Anyone else agree?
