I heard Wilco in a pretty odd place tonight. "Please be Patient With Me" was played while I was eating dinner at Oceanique, a fairly upscale seafood restaurant in Evanston, Ill. Not only was it an unexpected song, it was an unexpected place to hear Wilco. They were also playing older Sigor Ros.

The list of artists/songs is at this link: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809775079/cast Just in case there's someone out there who doesn't want to be spoiled as to which song is in the movie ...

My husband and I just checked to see whether spending our first anniversary in alaska seeing wilco would be possible. How cool would that be?! Sweet jesus, flights are expensive from chicago; maybe in a few years

Asbury Park parking lot? I had similar experiences there, but I was a suburban kid acting like a punk for a day, so it only seems scary to me remembering it.

Wow! I've been drug tested for all of my newspaper jobs. Internships, too, I think. Not 17 years worth but more than a few different ones.

I don't think Eclectic Company is live -- Jeff's show was recorded weeks before the residency and then aired a few days before. This will be fun to hear.

I like Clem Snide! Although I only know End of Love. I think they'd be fun to see before Wilco. I can't think of who'd be the perfect opener, but I thought Dr. Dog was pretty damn good this past fall.

Apples and oranges. I can write a newspaper article, but god help me if I try to write a poem/song. Anyway, very honest and sincere piece.

I'm staying up hoping to hear this.

I'd guess John Doe at 10 CST, Wilco at 11.

My brother, who's a relatively new fan (never seen them live, has heard Kicking TV, Summerteeth and SBS) said he liked it. He did say he thought Hate it Here was too mellow for SNL even though he likes the song. He did not mention the nudie suit, which I guess means he just assumed it was normal. Luckily, little bro is seeing them Tuesday!

System of a Down a couple years ago, too.

Me too! I liked "Let's Fight." It was played a couple times the summer before SBS came out, and then disappeared, never to be heard again.

That clarinet is so sweet.

wow! amazing setlist! can't wait to hear tomorrow's (tonight's) show on the npr webcast. those first two songs are killer with daaaaaa total pros.

Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway (Again) Why does Wilco hate me? P.S. Please play this one again.

Box Full of Letters was the first Wilco song I ever heard, too! This show is killing me -- Blue Eyed Soul, Bob Dylan's Beard and Pick Up the Change were at the top of my must-hear list. Making it worse is the fact that work is not busy at all tonight, ugh. With my luck, expect Pieholden Suite to appear tonight.

The show from the ftp sounds fabulous, Brian! Thanks so much! I'm only a few songs in, but I'm so excited cause I know what's coming My 5-year-old laptop hates me right now, but at least I can listen to Saturday night's show instead of mourning the fact that I'm missing tonight's. That's not true, I'll still be sad. Thanks also to everyone posting photos -- they're all amazing.

You got some great pics of some of my favorite moments. Last night I think was the closest to perfect Wilco show I've seen. Amazing mix of new and old, and I got to hear some of the songs I've been hoping for (Dash 7, Magazine) and some really beautiful versions of others (Just That Simple, Lonely One). I thought the sound was better last night than Friday -- maybe it was where I was standing -- although we couldn't hear Andrew Bird too well on Nels' side, which was sad. The crowd, at least the people around me, was stellar, with little jostling, whoo-ing or yelling, and lots of singing an
