Y'all sound like apologists. "Normally I avoid 'blog bands' like the plague, and when I succumb to the hype enough to give them a listen I am presented with some crap like Vampire Weekend or The Fleet Foxes most of the time. Thanks, but No Thanks." Autopsy IV 9b I ejected VW (and Fleet Foxes for that matter. ) into the ether after the first listens because like cheap beer and Britney Spears, life's too short, my hard drive too small.

Sarah and I have tickets for the Lawrence, Kansas show. Liberty Hall is one of my favorite little (1050 including balcony) venues. It's GA and we'll be in the front row. We're jazzed.

One afternoon driving through the highlands, a tremendous rainstorm hit. In a matter of minutes, all of those barren hillsides came alive with massive, rushing waterfalls. It was one of the most incredible things I have been gifted to witness. Plus I ate the best salmon I have ever tasted at a wee pub nestled into a mountainside near Pitlochry. Just finishing this. Really fascinating read. My friend Claudia, a self proclaimed 'scatologist' , is reading it next: Next: My reading habits follow the seasons. I like to read before bed, but the older I get the faster I fall asleep. My favorite reading times are on cold snowy Sunday afternoons when I can gobble a book whole, in the bathtub during an hour salt bath soak, or at the pool. Very little reading gets done during gardening season, however.

Thanks, Rosie. Apparently, I could write reviews for the NYT. I'm still smitten with Bird's vocabulary.
