  1. 2 things... A bronze of ms yvon's ponytail should be put in the R&R HOF. And... Thank you so much for the call, Johnny. I hadn't looked at my cell until I read this. I really miss being there, but everyone's joy is infectious!
  2. After listening to recordings of the band from the bad old days, I think you all that pine for them are remembering through rose tinted ears. Or something. Those shows were every bit as rowdy and noisy as they are now.
  3. Love those audience shots, Charles! Can't wait to see more of your work this coming week. Thank you. What a night. I could feel the energy all the way down here. Thank you so much for the call last night, sweet Edie! Sunken Treasure. Ahhh. Sarah and I took turns listening and riling each other up.
  4. I'm going to guess it's funny because of your avatar.
  5. My friend Chris Hall, who keeps me posted on regular Tom Waits sightings around his northern California home, told me that he "sneezed in his his pants" when he heard about this. I said, "Wait. Is sneezing in your pants a good thing?"
  6. Tenderness does not choose its own uses. It goes out to everything equally, circling rabbit and hawk. Look: in the iron bucket, a single nail, a single ruby
  7. One of my favorite pieces of music. I get goosebumps every time.
  8. If they don't I hope they send Danny in their stead. I'd love to hear him dish about it in his blog.
  9. Yeah, Rosie usually says the same thing about him. More for me is what I say. Spring, baby.
  10. Oh yeah. And amen to the lover who never grows old:
  11. Can't help it. As Tom Waits would say, "Hubba, hubba, ding ding ding. Baby, you got everything":
  12. In my case, Lindsey Lohan and Mary-Kate Olsen, childhood favorites of Sarah's, have provided many conversation points about freedom, slippery slopes, self regulation and balance. I guess I just hope the same occurs in other households.
  13. When Scientology attacks. I would love to see more of these parodies. NSFW
  14. Except that when it happens with famous people it hopefully creates a larger conversation about the subject.
  15. Still in limited release in the states. I saw the trailer a month or so ago. I loved the look of the film, and like The Squid and the Whale, there is a startling realism in the dialogue. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
  16. Agatha Trunchbull might be the greatest villain ever to "grace" the screen.
  17. Happy birthday Cloudygirl! I hope you have the best day.
  18. My NW Ohio hometown flooded yesterday for the 5th time in 13 months. Each time it has flooded this past year, it was called a "100 year flood". I spoke to my brother today. Many of the residents have just this month returned to their homes after the flooding this past summer. Strange days.
