Laminated Nap, you do realize I'm just playing with you, right?
-
But you represent every curmudgeonly concert goer who sits down even while Wilco is inviting people to stand up and dance.
-
I'm printing up some t-shirts for the next concert Wilco plays in Chicago. Hopefully by 2012. Front: Some Wilco Logo Back: Sorry Laminated Nap!
-
Sounds like it is time to stay home and watch the Pay-Per-View concerts.

That's why hockey arenas are perfect for Wilco. Or places like the Riv. Where you have standing in the front and sets on the side/back/balcony. Super serve the in boogie-ers, the standers, and the sitters. I usually like to stand in the back, but love being able to move around at the Riv or Vic, or even UIC. I hated the shows at the Aud, because when I stood up it was always earlier than the people behind me and if you tried to move around that place, the ushers guided you back to your seat. Hockey arenas, that's the solution!

Screw the theaters and the seats. Wilco must only play places like UIC Pavilion with a clear floor. Those old, tired, bored Wilco fans can sit their asses down in the seats of the arena. Those fans that like to stand in the back, can shift around as they need to. Those that like to stand and boogie in the front, can do so without bothering anyone. Wilco, playing these uptight theaters with seats is silly. You fans want to rock.

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG! My cousin lives in Nebraska, just down the road from Utrecht, Nebraska. I am *so* going to see Wilco in Nebraska. So excited!!!!

Looks like Ms. Tristen is coming to "boring Bon Jovi's" (aka Wilco, her opinion, not mine) hometown on Saturday 6/4 @ 1pm for Do Division street fest Do Division Street Fest 2011 http://fezziwig.me/kkXAw7

I am really surprised that the Wilco community in Chicago doesn't support all the side projects. One of my favorite shows of 2010 in Chicago was The Autumn Defense in November at Lincoln Hall. This year, I'd say the combination of John Langford and Candy Golde is one of the best Chicago shows I've seen. All the guys in Candy Golde seem to be really excited about playing together and getting to play all those great old garage rock covers. I also think "Troubles Coming Down" is as catchy and hooky as they come. John sang lead on The Who's "Armenia City in the Sky" as he did at the Club D

Happy 18 Month Anniversary, Chicago - Since Last Wilco Show

Looks like it is a 3-way tie, so far. -
Elusive Paul? Just look for the guy writing down the songs as they are played. Usually front row.

"I think Bon Jovi ruined music" - Jeff Tweedy
-
Just realized that this past week was the 18 month anniversary of the last Wilco show in Chicago. With the band working on a new album and rumors of a September release swirling about, it got me wondering when the next Chicago Wilco show would take place and where it might be. Take the poll or make your prediction in this thread. Will be interesting to see what you all think will come next.
-
Wait, just realized... Meh, translated becomes: "Wilco = boring Bon Jovi", Tweedy was right.

This is Tristen

A solo Tweedy show will make you laugh, make you cry, make you sing along to great Tweedy compositions and some awesome covers. If you have the cash, it will be money well spent.

That was a great show. The recording is so-so due to the chatter, the bar noise and the fact that the mics had to be back by the board. But "You're Really Gone" is a pre-cursor to "Hate It Here", which was really cool to hear it evolve from that to the song.

Don't you mean the lack of smells? That is a trait that must be a positive for a touring rock guy.

I've been a Rush fan for 35 years and I'm pretty sure it is not pronounced 'pert'. It is my understanding from hearing Neil pronounce his own name on many interviews that it is closer to how Jeff was pronouncing it, Peert. Which I guess if stretched out long enough could sound like Parrot.

You can now hear the Candy Golde cover of that Paul Simon song. Sounds even cooler live. http://hypem.com/#!/item/19zeg/Candy+Golde+-+The+Boy+in+the+Bubble+Paul+Simon+cover
