Joe is quite talented, his "Daydreams" and his band Joe, Marc's Brother's "Around the Year With" are already in my top-50. Saw Joe do an hour long set on S&D this past January. Was the highlight performance of the cruise for sure. You can watch some videos of it on YouTube... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...p;search=Search

You are in (or already live in) Chicago to see a wonderful benefit concert by our beloved, talented, and entertaining Jeff Tweedy. If you are wondering what to do after the wonderful SSS Vic security people rudely tell you "PEOPLE, YOU MUST LEAVE THE VENUE!!!" I've got just the thing. It is supposed to be cold that night (a low of 24 degrees) so you don't want to be hanging outside the Vic. You shouldn't go to some greasy spoon to stuff yourself with your 4th meal of the day either. Sleep? You can do that when you are dead. Come to the Beat Kitchen and see The Honeydogs! They released

Awesome shots of the Abbey Pub show. Were there any audio tapers?

Bummer -- this sucks, when I saw "Sweet" for a moment I forgot Brian Connolly was dead and I was finally going to be able to see the original members of The Sweet perform "Little Willy" and "Fox on the Run" live in person. Then I came back to harsh reality.

Happy Birthday Ms. Wendy! Congratulations on another year filled with music and wishing you many more.

Hey Derek: Congrats on all accounts. Digging the new tunes, thanks for doing the streaming thing. Will Whiskey Bender be documenting this show? ckc

Sam's right -- the show sounded MUCH better back from the first few rows. Some shows they have those small on-stage front-row fill speakers for the PA, but last night they only had 2, one on each side to "fill" the main floor, in addition to the regular stacks. One song into Tim's set I moved back to the 2nd railing from the stage, dead center. It is a nice sweet spot, excellent sight line, and everything sounded and looked perfect from there. Horns were low when they first came out, but after they told Stan to turn them up they were quite loud.

The older I get, the more jaded I find myself at live shows. Until this set. I haven't enjoyed a set of music this much all year -- and maybe in many years. The whole way down to Union Park I kept thinking -- how the hell is Jon's set going to translate during daylight, outdoors, in front of what -- 5,000+ people. There is no way this guy is going to be able to hold the attention of this crowd under these conditions. Boy, not only was I wrong -- but he exceeded my expectations ten-fold. He paced his set perfectly, integrated the machines and guests at appropriate moments, and looked like
