  1. Yes, the intrepid taper Brennan had the seat next to me back by the mixing desk pretty much dead-center in the auditorium. The crowd around his mikes were pretty respectful, so I have hopes that the recording came out well. Imagine it might take him some time to get to his other recordings as he put the Tweedy one first. The A.D. set was the best I've seen in the 7 years I've seen them live.

  3. It was great to see you and get to hang with you and the Wafer a few times. It felt a lot like a class reunion -- or maybe a summer camp reunion. Regardless, I'll be happy if we can swing going next year.
  4. On the setlist... 6 was just listed as "Every Day" not sure if that's an abbreviated title and they didn't announce the name of the song before or after the song. 14 was written as "Always Be a Way" and when Pat announced it he said "There Will Always Be a Way". UPDATE -- John just confirmed the 4 new songs are: 04. Back of My Mind 05. Step Easy 06. Every Day 14. There Will Always Be a Way
  5. Yes, I like this. There needs to be more snacks at Wilco/Tweedy shows. I promise not to crunch my chips during the quiet songs though.
  6. Twitter was my friend for that info. The other lucky guess was info about the venue that was a logical deduction. No tweets or little birdies.
  7. 2nd show just added for 10/19
  8. Bigger venues are harder to tape. Bigger venues are going to be "chattier" meaning more crowd with your music. New cities mean the "regular" tapers may not be there. Also as years pass "regular" tapers get too old to bother. Taping is a lot of work and sometimes you just want to experience the show sans worries. Lower prices on taping equipment mean new tapers enter the ring every day. Taping is not rocket science, so you are welcome to enter the ring yourself and give it a shot perhaps you could improve on the poor sounding recordings. Beyond that, if you know of tapers that produce g
  9. I have 11 shows that come from the period between Oct. 2001 and Dec. 2006. Some AUD some SBD, a lot from Chicago but about 1/2 from around the U.S. as Jay and Ed (and sometimes a full band) toured on "Palace at 4am". I don't have FLAC sets, so it will take me a little while to extract and upload. Each show is a wonderful event -- part music, part storytelling, part comedy, all fun. I even have an in-store which spans 2 CD's (imagine that, B&B are having so much fun they play 2 discs worth of music at an in-store). Here's what I could find. 2001.10.23 - Hot House - Chicago, IL - A
  10. There is a video on this page which is of a short interview with Steven by a Toronto TV station: http://cp24.com/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/2...24Entertainment

  12. Autumn Defense - Double Door - Chicago, IL - I believe the taper was David Sadowski. It was a DAT AUD tape made with hand-held stealth mics from about 5 feet from the stage. That's the sbd source that Aimee recorded and I mastered. I will PM you.
  13. As a taper that has spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on this hobby and goes out of my way to share with the Wilco community every recording I have ever made, the assholes in this thread who are complaining about this matrix can kiss future recordings goodbye if you keep this up.

  15. Why?!? Because the acoustics at the Aragon ain't so great, because the Riv is 2x as big as the Vic and Metro yet still relatively intimate for a band this "big", because big "Bessie" (aka the Uptown) is closed for now, and the top reason they are at the Riv -- so I can walk the 4 blocks to/from the show...that's why! Thank you Jeff for choosing the Riv and for playing 5 nights in an otherwise dreary month.
  16. I thought I read somewhere that Stan sometimes mixes in a stereo mic (or pair) out at the sbd for some room ambience. I know he used to use a Digidesign Mbox and as Renic said it was definitely only 2-track. But if he does use a room mic and still just uses the Mbox, he's likely mixing the 4 channels (L/R sbd feed + L/R room mics) down to 2 before going into ProTools. About 3 years ago before Stan started using his MBox, they wanted to upgrade beyond his mini-disc. I know they talked to a Chicago taper about taping their shows for them in a matrix format. At the time I think it was more
  17. They are in the middle of a short 8 date (7 city) reunion tour with the 4 original members of the band. The 4 guys that made their 1st 2 albums on Elektra. Future live shows or studio recordings are yet TBD.
  18. Thanks! BTW, for anyone interested here are links to threads on the SD msg board that have information on where to D/L recordings of the Chicago (10/13) and first Knoxville (10/19) shows... 19. On S&D Joe was accompanied by: Ryan Miller (Guster) - Guitar and Vocals Tyler Stewart (BNL) - Drums and Vocals Jim Creeggan (BNL) - Upright Bass and Vocals on some songs he was also accompanied by... Brian Rosenworcel (Guster) - Percussion Adam Gardner (Guster) - Vocals Those 3 guys on the left (stage right) are from the Colorado bluegrass band called Oakhurst I think the banjo player is Zach Daniels, but not sure of the other 2 guys names. The thing I love about his "Daydreams" and Marc's Brother's "Around the Year With" -- is that they go great together. I never tire of listening
  20. This new place is pretty good. When the weather is nice they open the big windows. Great beers on tap and pretty good appetizers for a light pre-show meal. Just a short walk to the Aragon. http://www.fatcatbar.com/
