It is an awesome site. I always loved the logo

Don't forget to change the web site you list on your Twitter profile. It still links to your, now expired, web site. I'm biased, web sites are my business, but I'd recommend that any musician who is trying to reach an audience to have some kind of web site. Even if it is just a domain name that redirects to your Bandcamp page. It is good to have a domain you own. If you build an audience on Bandcamp, what happens if Bandcamp dies. Don't think it can happen? Well, remember back in 2006 when we thought MySpace was going to be serving bands forever?!? Well, now some artists I work with d

Rather than trying to teach yourself how to do this, I think it would be better to enlist Wilco fans who already know this who could build an admin back-end interface to existing database. Then you would not need any computer knowledge to get the db updated and maintain it going forward.

I think it is easy to significantly underestimate the number of hours it took to maintain that site. I know I did when I volunteered to take it over. Also, keep in mind that WilcoBase was the 2nd generation of this database. It was seeded by Jane the Timeline Chick's "database". WilcoBase was initially used as a project for some systems classes. Once those classes ended it was just too much of a burden for one person. It also was not set-up for online administration. Nor was it set-up for easily allowing a team to work on it. I know that others were asked to take it over. I was one who was

What WilcoBase requires is someone or some group have a) database skills -- the master db is a MS Access db that really need to be converted PHP skills -- the web templates are all PHP c) the funds to host the site d) the time to figure it all out and get the data updated I thought I had all 4 and received a copy of the database from Rob. But I was overly optimistic about item d -- and aborted my effort when Wilco's management built their own version. If someone truly wants the db, PM me. I'll send it to you.

Life happened. WilcoBase went on hiatus last year. WilcoBase's database was turned over Wilco's management team. They incorporated the set list data into the WilcoWorld.net web site.

You can stream "California Stars", in its entirety, at Rhett's awesome new web site: http://www.rhettmiller.com/ -
Show is on a Sunday. Just get a bucket of hot chocolate, a boom box, and a sleeping bag. Problem solved.

He was still involved with Otto's a year ago when I was there to see Fruit Bats. Had you heard something since then?

Don't you think they did line them up beforehand? Revealing them one-by-one is much more fun.

I think Wilco is doing this to do something different and keep an element of mystery in the process. Playing 2 nights at UIC was sterile. Five nights in a row at the same venue -- yawn. But multiple 3 nights at 3 different venues, all with different capacities, that's cool. I bet they'll broadcast one of the shows on WXRT, tool.

Wilco's production manager and monitor engineer, Steve Versaw, and former guitar tech Joey King, are/were in The M's. The M's are on indefinite hiatus. But they have released an EP in collaboration with TV Pow. You can stream the first three tracks off the EP and buy the download at Steve's label's site: http://themovingslabel.com/ My personal favorite is track 2: "The Right Man, for the Right Time (You're a Loser)"

One Sunday Morning (Vinyl Version aka definitve version)

I have often thought the opposite. I miss the way songs used to fade out. Was a staple of the '60 and '70's, I believe. Radio edits or in some cases even doing it for the radio. But I always like a good fade. -
This was a welcomed and desired acquisition of the database of set-lists by the Wilco organization. Wilco inquired if they could take the project in-house and off the plate of Wilcobase. Wilcobase complied. Good to see it finally have an official home. It had become way to time consuming to do on a volunteer basis for Mr. Wilcobase.

The album was mastered by Bob Ludwig in Portland, ME, if I'm not mistaken.

Boy, the team that makes these Roadcase entries possible deserves high praise. Glad to see the archive growing.

That would make sense, on his way back from Japan.

Actually based on this pic, it appears they are practicing on the main floor of MASSMoCA

Did you check upstairs at MASSMoCA?

The Tweedys need to eat, ya know! ;-) Songs cost $0.99 when they are nothing but 1's and 0's and cost NOTHING to duplicate. But stick two songs (1 of them which had to be licensed) onto some vinyl, design a cover, do a small run. $5-6, seems about right.
