  1. i have always had amazing luck with front gate, except for this last TWEEDY ryman show, everything i pulled sucked. however, every single wilco show i have purchased tickets from front gate i've been in the first 5 rows. the best ticketmaster experience for wilco was 3rd row for atlanta a few years ago randomly pulled the afternoon the tickets went on sale. so, i guess not all the best seats are out there right at 10am- or it could have been that venue. pretty stoked to have gotten the tickets for athens in the pre-sale. i imagine the ticket biscuit servers will be strained- i've used
  2. I think some of it might be intentional. Maybe to make it feel more intimate?
  3. There are no codes, it's through front gate just like usual.
  4. I think he looks like Jeff. Maybe a bit more ragged than when I saw him in Nashville, but whatev. I thought he looked fine of the Tonight show too. But honestly, as long as it's Jeff singing and playing and being awesome he could tattoo his face purple and I wouldn't flinch.
  5. Firstly, craigwinn I dig your avatar. Also, i dig this tune.
  6. I think Say Anything got their start around 2001 or so. The lead singer is my husband's age, so it's interesting to me that they're sort of my "peers" as far as age goes... most of the bands I listen to are a bit older... it's weird to think about. Digging the Exploding Hearts! Thanks, PopTodd Oh wow, just did a little bit of reading about them... what a bummer about the accident. Damn.
  7. totally. The weird thing is I did that and didn't really like any other other similar bands with the exception of Saves The Day, because I listened to them in the little gap I had before I went Wilco crazy in high school because they were my best friends favorite band. SA is a weird one, because they don't really fit in the genre they get stuck with a lot of the time. I hear more elements of a band like Queen than Saves The Day a lot of the time.
  8. Here's what they sound like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7rYZjv3wNg I know of the majority of the power pop bands listed, but haven't heard of several. I know most of the old school punk bands listed too, but there are several I've not taken the time to appreciate.
  9. Can you guys tell me some good bands in these sort of sub genres of music? I've been really into this band Say Anything... they're pop punk for sure- I know it's probably not a lot of y'alls cup of tea, but I enjoy it for a lot of the same reasons I enjoy Wilco... I'm just looking for new things to listen to, and I trust you guys to help more than some other places on the web.
  10. Three months from yesterday I will be typing that I am seeing Paul McCartney. I can't wait for that to happen. No shows for me until August though... spent all my money on Tweedy last month.
  11. Check out the Ryman recording that's in the Jeff Taste of Chicago thread. The version on that recording is awesome
  12. Wilco's had a song in 3/4 before "It's Just That Simple" is in 3/4 though, I guess Jeff didn't write it...
  13. I heard "Box Full Of Letters" at Logan's Roadhouse last week. That was the best bit of my experience there.
  14. Thanks so much for doing this! I am so stoked to have a copy of this show, it's my first real soundboard of a show I was at! Edit: Also, not to nit pick, but you forgot to list Spencer in the notes on the band.
  15. Thanks so much! I can't torrent on the apartment's wi-fi. It's a bummer. I appreciate you working on an alternative solution.
  16. Hoping we can get a link on sendspace or dropbox or media fire too, because I can't use DIME anymore.
  17. oh! The reason they probably didn't do via Chicago is because there was a technical issue at the show. Through almost the whole song the main PA was out for Jeff's vocals and guitar that's probably why v
  18. THANK YOU SO MUCH! for recording this. Never did I think I would get to hear the show again!
  19. What I wouldn't give for a time machine to go back and see this line up in person.
  20. Thanks so much for capturing it! What a lovely interview. No discussion of the future of Wilco.
  21. Hahaha that is pretty funny
