  1. thanks guys! i will totally take SMILE. i used to have the brian wilson release, but lost it as it was something i got in Athens from my buddy.
  2. i used to do that too, but then school got ridiculous, so i stopped. i have so many CDs i don't even know what i have til i spend 3 hours digging... it's horrible!
  3. i disabled that. the computer we have at home is too small to handle the amount of stuff i had on the ipod. plus my sister connects her ipod to it too, so manually managing it was the safest thing to do. until now... i'm def getting an external hard drive.
  4. thanks. yeah, i am asking for an external for my birthday for sure. my ipod is from 05 so it's time to upgrade soon i think.
  5. i know. i have CD's of them somewhere in my house, i just don't know where(and i tore my room apart looking last night) 10-14-05 was my 1st wilco show (and i got the nifty shout out too) so to lose that one would be really sad...
  6. Hi guys, Yesterday I lost my entire record collection. I had everything on my iPod, and it crashed and everything disappeared. I tried everything I could think of to get it back, but it was no use, so I reformatted and am starting from scratch. I am first and foremost trying to get the "core" back, I've got all the Wilco studio stuff back on it, as well as some other significant records for me. I found quite a few live shows I lost on Owl and Bear (thank-you O&B!) but there are a few that I had that they don't have anymore (I can't find my disc copies) October 14, 2005 and March 17, 20
  7. Thanks to Jen for the phone call during Candyfloss and Hate It Here! It went to voicemail cos I was sleeping, but I got to wake up to it.
  8. A few Christmases ago my sister made me this cool painting out of an old table top (the table used to sit in the living room)... *note: the tin foil sculpture was made by St. G
  9. I took my sister to see the Avett Brothers in our hometown of Chattanooga this past Saturday, and thought I would post about it. What a show it was! It was almost worth missing Wilco in Knoxville! My sister was definitely pumped, because the Avetts are her favorite band. The Tivoli is an interesting place to see a rock show. It's sister theatre is in Knoxville (the Bijou) and it's designed for symphonies. The sound was great the whole night though, nothing to complain about there. The crowd was decent too, though apparently most of the annoyances were up in the top balcony and not down in t
  10. I am not bothered by the lack of narratives or whatever. The thing that bothers me out of the whole movie is the steroid comment being edited into the Ryman bit when it was said at Cain's. Oh well, i'm just picking a nit i suppose. Oh, and this gave me a reason to hook my surround sound up.
  11. there are no independent stores in chattanooga.
  12. It's weird when I first got into Television i was drawn to "adventure" 1st over "Marquee Moon". I love both the records now. I own 3 CD copies of MM somehow... and the re-issue of "adventure", and found it on vinyl... still need to get "Marquee Moon" on vinyl.
  13. got mine! and the tote bag is HUGE! they weren't kidding about being able to put kids in it! also, i am such a big nerd i cried during "ashes"...that solo is so dang beautiful!
  14. i used normal USPS shipping. i found the tracking number by going to the wilco store and logging into my account then clicking "order status"... then it said something like mail innovations and had a number. i copied the number and typed mail innovations into google and a UPS site came up so i entered the tracking number and that's how i got the info.
  15. mine was supposedly shipped a week ago... yet to arrive... i wonder if the tote bag has slowed it down? i don't even know why i ordered the tote, as i have 3 other wilco totes... just checked the tracking number and it said... Apr 15 2009 Entered USPS Facility - SCF CHATTANOOGA , TN maybe it will be at home this afternoon... how can it take 2 days to get to soddy from chatt when it's a 20 min drive??? bah, i hate mail.
  16. i bet it will be a deal where you get to pick which of the 4-5 shows you want... at least i hope because i would love a good quality copy of that ryman show!!
  17. great to meet you!! It was indeed a great show, and I am pretty sure it will be the loudest show I will ever see. (Unless Avett Brothers blow the roof off Sat!) I took some pictures but most of them are a blurry mess. I think the loudness messed up the focus or something, I will try to edit. Also got some suprisingly decent video! Lou Barlow was cracking me up with his banter, I need to find some of his post-dino work. Also got a kick ass gig poster for the show, which features a Dinosaur attacking the Aquarium!
  18. if you get in town early enough come over to the North Shore area and eat at a restaurant called Good Dog. It's a hot dog place, and it's phenomenal, and relatively cheap too. It closes at 8 though. There is also a restaurant adjacent to Rhythm and Brews called Big River Grill. It's okay. The venue is tiny, i think there's like a 200 capacity. I am getting there early to stake out a prime spot (probably in the balcony...). It's a good place, and it's where a lot of bands play between cities. Son Volt plays there when they come through. Beer and stuff is kinda expensive though.
  19. going to the show tonight! :woot
  20. i hope it leaks on or before my birthday!
  21. I thought the exact same thing! I would love to see both J's on the same bill... what a night of RSBFs that would be!
  22. i have never been so sad about missing a show. esp since Wendy is going!! i am seeing the Avett Bros that night in chattanooga with my kid sister so not all is lost.
