  1. I'm a big DD&D fan too. Guy is a little nuts with his cool catch-phrases but otherwise he is fairly likable and has good tastes in restaurants. I love a good diner. Or even a bad diner.
  2. sounds awesome. Globe Trekkers (or lonely planet, as is was called at one point) is my favorite travel show... they do some great things. I like to watch travel shows because I can't afford to travel much of anywhere anytime in the forsee-able future.
  3. nudie was the designer's actual name, for those who aren't aware: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nudie_suit
  4. thats because you were probably not in the mindset of a group of 21 year old girls with a rock band obsession.
  5. I am growing nostalgic for the time this film was showing in theaters and coming out on DVD. Please, regale me with your stories of how many times you saw it in the theater. I personally saw the film 3 times in 3 different theaters. I pre-ordered the DVD and ,the day it was delivered, I missed the UPS guy and all three of us wilcas trekked to the UPS shipping facility in an industrial park and asked them to get it off the truck so we could get it that night. then there was the time i went and saw Sam Jones' band and he played 'I Got You,' which was so lame that I almost laughed. I wish
  6. wilca has no plans for a residency but Katie (prettieststar, you're right!) was just asking me about a reunion. and oh yeah, hoT roadies! remember when Jeff introduced them as hoT roadies at the first aud shows? hahaha. we were so embarassed. sort of. austrya- i remember when that happened with leroy... i had already left but i'm glad i got to hear the story of leroy's wilca fandom. we worked hard on that record and the album art! thanks
  7. i joined late summer 2002 (august or september, i think). those were the good old days where you could have the last post in every forum and when there was a west coast late night crew that was really funny to post back and forth with. i remember when i flew to columbus and went to the Ann Arbor and Columbus shows in Oct 02- i posted a thread asking for the best routes between the cities and everyone was really helpful and nice. VC was the place where I met people like Kate and Kristina, who generously offered lodging for a couple girls they never knew. Heck, Kristina offered her parents' h

  9. that was a weird looking post. i'm still sick. i have a nonstop "have to sneeze" feeling but i can't sneeze.
  10. drive through the Great Smokies. its gorgeous.
  11. i'm vaguely better- I came to work today. I'm a total wreck though, coughing and sneezing all over the place. I wouldn't want to sit next to me!

  13. it is just a harmony thing, not probably. as zebra said, john only sings lead on its just that simple, as far as wilco goes. take a look at the liner notes in your album... it has all that info in there.
  14. wilco doesn't allow video of their shows. its probably better to be nice and not support pirated video, especially when the band is so generous in allowing audio and photos. i guess thats a personal decision, though.
  15. i was at that one. it was truly awesome. the venue itself was lovely, comfortable, and non smoking. asheville was a gorgeous place to be and the weather was awesome that day (crazy but beautiful thunderstorms). the show itself was really fun and jeff played the request jasmine and i had made to him earlier that day (pick up the change, because we totally weren't prepared and didnt know what to say). this show is a nice memory
  16. oh yeah, those are awesome. there was one of those in this week's set of questions... it was a bet to find out who the Personality Parade thought was the best actress in the broadway play Gypsy. The Parade said they had to go dutch because it didn't agree with either of the question writer's options.
  17. every sunday, a wonderful publication called Parade arrives with the paper on millions of doorsteps. this week, indie haircuts are examined in the always fascinating "Personality Parade" section: As usual, their answers are spot on!!
  18. I'm excited! I can't wait until they come here on their tour, though. but UC Davis? thats a semi-unusual tour stop. 19. as a side effect of my wilco illness... i was getting out of my car in the walgreens parking lot, to put my codeine cough syrup script in, when i slipped on a giant ice patch. it looks like there is a blue ping pong ball growing out of my knee
