Lammycat
The games weren't even that close. Sloppiest play I've ever seen on both sides of the court. Bad passes and bad decisions. Horrid shot selection and horrid defense by LA.Doesn't this encapsulate the majority of regular-season games? This is pretty much standard fare for what passes for the NBA presently. I guess in that regard....
Guest Jules
Sounds like Riley might pass on Beasley in favor of a point guard (Mayo or the kid from Arizona). I'd be interested to read what bobbob and others think about this.

I'd be interested to read what bobbob and others think about this. Riley had better have a really good explanation if he passes on Beasley. I like Haslem as much as the next guy, but you don't pass on a 20-10 guy because of him.

Guest Jules
Yeah. I really hope it's just Riley blowing smoke up everyone's asses...Well, he did go from 6'10" to 6'7" pretty quick. It's funny, I remember thinking he didn't look that tall.
Duck-Billed Catechist
6'8 1/2" in shoes. He can reach as high as Joakim Noah, though--so the shortish height doesn't tell you that much. I think he'll be a good NBA player and better than Rose.
Guest Jules
I think he'll be a good NBA player and better than Rose.nope, not in today's game. Sure, he'll be a 20-10 guy, but there are plenty of those. When is the last time you saw a point guard (I mean a true point guard) drive the lane and dunk on someone? Kidd, maybe, although not in a long time. Rose is that guy. He's Deron Williams but quicker and more athletic (I know, not as good a shooter). He was held back by the college game. Gobias Industries
I don't think Beasely has the defensive skills either. He will put up 20-10 numbers for sure, but he may give up 20-10 numbers to the other player given his average to subpar defense, which certainly doesn't help a team win a game. bobbob1313
Beasley is the best fit for the Heat. They don't need a guy like Mayo...
John Smith
Well, he did go from 6'10" to 6'7" pretty quick. It's funny, I remember thinking he didn't look that tall. I remember all through high school Mark Aguire was listed as being 6'7". When I stood next to him at a DePaul game he was a good inch or two shorter than I was and I'm 6'5". Patrick Ewing is another one who was always listed at about 7' but in reality was closer to 6'9". I think over time a lot of these guys have been either mis-measured, or have had their height delibrately mis-stated.
Gobias Industries
Why did Cleveland pass on Kosta?
bobbob1313
Great draft for the Heat. I'm happy Riley didn't do anything stupid.
Gobias Industries
Goodbye, Seattle. It sucks. What a crappy decision, it gets me...
borracho
well, i think the Seattle move is great, but i'm biased (and from OKC)... i do feel sorry for the fans in Seattle, though... hopefully they'll get their arena issues figured out and get another team in the future. part of the settlement was that the Sonics name, colors and history would be available to a new Seattle team. the OKC team will get a new name and colors this season... fatheadfred
Man, Sir Charles. What a guy. His book from eons ago is a good read. Cheers to the round mound of the rebound.

benjamin
Kwame Brown is piston. I don't know how I feel about that... somewhere between puzzled and not happy.

MrRain422
I have all the faith in the world in Joe Dumars, but this signing leaves me baffled as well. I mean he's only 26, but he's also Kwame Brown. He's just young enough to still have a chance to out fail Nazr Mohammed.
fatheadfred
Just saw that Paul Pierce was quoted as saying Kobe isn't the best, what about me? Prolly a joke, but it made all the whiney Laker fans mad. I seriously hope Boodiechech cuts his hair before the season starts...and stops whining. Oh, yeah, Pierce needs to quit whining too.
