My friend Al and I have a long going discussion about which is better:

Spiders acoustic, or spiders with the whole band.

I've found that the song can be categorized in three ways: Sometimes the band plays an 11+ minute version with jam-band-esque interludes and solos and bright flashing lights to the beat of the song; sometimes they have played a shorter version (about 5-6 minutes) without as many bells & whistles; and then, of course, there is the beautiful solo acoustic rendition by Jeff Tweedy.

Help us out...

well, i loveeeeeeeeee the acoustic version. so i voted for it.

but the electric version is always the biggest part of the show and gets the crowd going the most. so it deserves some credit.

i can't really get into the album version much.

I voted for the encore, but with the caveat that it has to be preceded by "Poor Places."

:cheers I concur,heartily!

Doesn't Tweedy solo in the begining, the verses, the first solo after the power chord riff, and then him and Nels solo together on the second solo. To me, it sounds like that on Kicking Television album.
