tugmoose
I'm hardly watching regular movies anymore. I set these apart from Moment in Time docs (I Am Trying to Break Yer Heart, Spinal Tap) or concert films. Some of the best: Beatles AnthologyDevil and Daniel JohnstonBe Here to Love Me (TVZ)We Jam Econo (Minutemen)Fearless Freaks (Flaming Lips)No Direction Home (Dylan)End of the Century (Ramones) Any others out there about which I should know? mountain bed
Although the music is a sideline to the whole story,"It Was 20 Years Ago Today" has to be one of the definitive docs of the whole sixties 'rock/drugs/politics' scene.Essential viewing, imo.

aver
I like almost everything plexi film has done. They did IATTBYH for example. Also the Moog doc was a particulary good one by them.
Welsh Rich
I've not seen that DCFC film, is it any good Rich? I thought it was just a live concert? I can second We Jam Econo - great documentary, the No Direction Home film is great too, really sparked a second interest in Dylan for me and the Filth and the Fury. I don't have many others but the Clash one, Westway To The World, is brilliant.

EL the Famous
RHCP - Funky Monks. Whether you love them or hate them, it was a great snapshot of the timeframe before they really blew up w/ Blood Sugar Sex Magic. I really liked that Beulah doc as well.

fortuneinmyhead
Nico - Icon and ... if you can find them ... The Continuing Story of the Rolling Stones (lots of interview + concert footage) Let's Get Lost (a great docu from the 80s about Chet Baker ...)

Synthesizer Patel
Don't Look Back is being re-issued I wonder what the other disc has got on it? Maybe those outtakes that were leaked a while back. This reminds me that I forgot to say Eat The Document as a great music doc. I much prefer it to Don't Look Back which I find a little hard to watch at times, because, to me, Dylan acts like a tosser in it pretty much most of the time.
Analogman
I like the scene in the hotel room with Donovan.

WaronWar
Gimme Shelter - The Rolling StonesIt is great documentary that showcases the raw talent of the Stones during the Mick Taylor era. The only bad thing about the doc is seeing the killing that took place to with one of the hell angels and a young african american. But the killing as the documentary shows it is, is almost a symbolic ending to the 60's.
