ZenLunatic
Umbrella Chronicles is awesome. It's a ridiculously fun and addicting game, and the number of stuff you can unlock makes the replay value high. Plus, it's hard to beat when you have a friend over. Such a fun contest, especially fighting over critical hits. It works just fine without the Zapper, though I bet it makes it better. The game was pretty easy to find, just go to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart more than other places because mostly kids and their parents go to Wal-Mart for games, and chances are parents aren't buying kids M games. p.s. I hear Medal of Honor is terrible on the Wii. Ok, now I have to get Umbrella Chronciles. I was never too much into first-person shooters, but I know thats a big genre. I played alot of it earlier and it never really carried over to the home gaming systems for me. Was big into the first Medal of Honor and first Half-Life on the PC. Those were landmark games. Games like Unreal and Halo killed the genre for me.

It's a rail shooter, like, for example, the Area 51 or Jurassic Park arcade shooters (like you'll get a screen, eliminate the enemies on it, and get moved on to the next area where you shoot more). You don't physically do a lot of moving. It moves for you. You point your wiimote at the screen and shoot. If you really need to you use the nunchuk to put the awkwardly placed enemy (such as Lickers that start walking to you will get stuck on the bottom of your screen) on your screen so you can shoot it, you do it, but it's minimal. Ohh he was tricky. I had problems with him too. Took me abit. There are more hard parts like that. Just gotta get things down really good. You know how to hurt him right? I love that game. Probably ranks on my all time best list.

I would imagine it would have something to do with shooting the dudeski when he opens his mouth? I'm curious to see how many times I will die when I play through the game. austrya
Whooo hooo, I just beat Talk Dirty to Me!! On the hard level, even. Sorry, Peel, there's just no giid way to word that.
Gobias Industries
I'm currently playing Resident Evil 4, and I'm stuck early in the game. I can't figure out how to kill the giant alligator. I've been playing RE4 on the PS2 here at the dorm on a friend's machine (I've logged almost 6 hours), and I didn't find the alligator too difficult...the hardest part for me was figuring out where the heck he was coming from (it will point you with arrows on the screen, though, which is helpful). But, if this helps, you have a bunch of giant spears in your boat, and you basically just chuck them at his face when he charges you. As far as I know you have unlimited spears, so feel free to throw them at his back as he drags you along. But he doesn't stay at the surface too long when you're getting pulled. Just make sure you throw the spears into his mouth when he charges you. And if you miss and get knocked off, swim like the bajeesus and get back into the boat. Now, El Gigante on the other hand, was a total dickweed-face. That was tough as balls. ps when you get there, OPEN THE RIGHT GATE AND TAKE THAT PATHWAY. You'll know what I'm talking about, and you'll be damn thankful. Don't take the left pathway. The more I play this game the more I consider it as good as Zelda...more like the adult Zelda. I've been busy with Fire Pro Wrestling Returns, on the PS2, but I'm going to jump back to RE4 on the Wii tonight.
Gobias Industries
thanks for the tips. I've been busy with Fire Pro Wrestling Returns, on the PS2, but I'm going to jump back to RE4 on the Wii tonight. I forgot to mention this, but swimming is like an action sequence (like the sprinting when you dodge the boulder), and when the action first pops up, your screen is super-murky and you literally can't see yourself. Just keep swimming...unless you want to be gator food.

Mrs. Peel
In case anyone is looking, I've been refreshing Red Octane for a few days and they JUST listed some Wii Guitar Hero systems in stock.

Gobias Industries
So...the story is that I just got RE4 tonight, and for all intents and purposes pretty much as soon as I got back from campus for the break. It's taken me a little over two hours and I've just rescued Ashley. Overall, I like the Wii version a lot better than the other versions, because the Wii aiming makes it sooo much easier to plant things like shin shots (for kicking) and, not surprisingly, head shots. Of course, when it comes to that, the rifle doesn't have any of the pointing capabilities, which threw me off the first time, and probably is the only weapon I can say that I really hate (but obviously need)...it aims just like the PS2 version, except the zooms are mapped onto the Z and C...which are fine, but they're super-confusing at times. And, strangely enough, the croc was relatively difficult this time around (I think the Wii aiming kept throwing me off), and El Gigante was a piece of cake (gogogo TMP! ). Man, I just have to put RE4 in my top 5 games of all time. It's that good, that intense already. I even have to take breaks with all the intensity...
augurus
I wouldn't recommend getting Guitar Hero III on the Wii unless you want to listen to your music in mono.

explodo
Wouldn't you think they could issue a downloadable patch to fix that soon?
aricandover
does it really affect the game play?
austrya
I didn't even notice. But I was too busy rocking out.
Mrs. Peel
I'll put up with mono since I can go wireless on the Wii and jump off the couch like a rock star.

tongue-tied
I don't know how many people here download from the virtual console, but 'Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels' is the best $6 I've spent in a long time. Overshadows SMGalaxy for me right now.
Gobias Industries
Beat RE4 last night. 28 deaths, 16 hours. Most intense game ever. The last section is ridiculously hard, but the final boss is a total letdown...if you know what to do.
poppydawn
I had my first Wii experience this weekend. I injured myself twice - drew blood once. My shoulder still hurts and my three-year-old was better at it than me. Most fun ever! We'll be purchasing one this spring.
