Calexico
holy shit! Omar Little is my hero.  The first thing in this thread which hasn't been a mutual wankfest. The Wire rools!
gogo
mutual wankfest   I just wanted to say that in the past few weeks, I've spent a lot of quality time with a lot of quality VCers. When I first joined this place nearly 4 years ago, it never occurred to me that any of you people would ever even know my real name (not to mention my "real" real name ). Now I've seen a bunch of you in your natural habitats, and even had a few of you in my own home, and I wouldn't trade you all for anything. So and and and and all that jazz. jenbobblehead
 The Naming of Cats. t.s. eliot The naming of cats is a difficult matter, It isn't just one of your holiday games; You may think at first I'm mad as a hatter When I tell you a cat must have three different names.  First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,Such as Victor, or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey-- All of them sensible everyday names. There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames;Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter--But all of them sensible everyday names. But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,A name that is peculiar, and more dignified,Else how can hekeep up his tail perpendicular,Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride? Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,Such as Munkustrap, Quazo or Coripat,Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellyrum-- Names that never belong to more than one cat. But above and beyond there's still one name left over,And that is the name that you will never guess; The name that no human research can discover--But The Cat Himself Knows, and will never confess. When you notice a cat in profound meditation,The reason, I tell you, is always the same:His mind is engaged in rapt contemplationOf the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name: His ineffable effableEffanineffableDeep and inscrutable singular Name. Whitty
After a little lurking, this place seems to have a similar vibe to the forum I help moderate. So many web forums are like reading the poetry scribbled in the margins of a 14-year old's English notebook. I do kinda feel like I'm cheating on my girlfriend by posting here, though. Now where are your debates about religion and abortion- I'd like to sling around some personal attacks and baseless opinions! I'm also going to start five new threads about Sky Blue Sky, and just say "Who's excited about it?" in the message.
